Q Goodin

Postby Anti-Homer » Sun Nov 27, 2016 5:43 pm

Love the potential of Q. He is a big, physical guard, who gets to the lane with ease. He is also a ball hawk defensively. He is avg. 4.5 pts a good, and shooting 56% from the field, including 29% from 3; respectable for a guy not known for shooting the 3; better than both Sumner and Blueitt, though it was great seeing Ed hit a couple of treys.

I fully expect Sumner to leave after this year, b/c he'll be a loterry pick, but feel good with the play of Goodin, and next year's arrival of Scruggs. Mman or Hops, was there a recruit at the game yesterday? there was a 6'7 kid sitting behind the bench, who seemed to be getting the royal treatment.

I agree, Q looks like he will be a great player. I like that he is allowing the game to come to him, playing within the offense and not trying to do too much. I suspect he is capable of much more but at this point it is better he slowly becomes a bigger part of the offense. Limit mistakes and take advantage of opportunities is exactly what X needs from him this year. There will probably be games where he is a bigger part of the offense but definitely shouldn't force the issue.

He's also built like a tank.

Q is definitely an upgrade at backup PG compared to LA Jr.
A little bigger - 6'4" compared to 6'2"
He has shown an ability to drive to the hoop and score.
Has made some nice assists. Has 11 assists to 9 TO's.
If he can knock down an occasional 3, that make him more valuable.
LA Jr made zero 3's last year.
Q has a lot of upside.
