TB this year's go to guy?
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Trevon took over games last season, but he also disappeared in games. I just want him to be consistent; be the player that steps up when we need him to stop a run; step up to put a game away late; and either the go to player with the game on the line, or the threat that draws the attention so others can step up with the game on the line. It will be a key for this team's success, and a key for Trevon getting drafted in the NBA. His talent is off the charts!

Agreed. Most importantly show up in the games that really matter even if he sacrifices points for rebounds but more importantly play great defense.

i do think, and it's still early because there are so many variables that go into a basketball season, but as the season goes on, this team will turn into TB and Sumner's team. meaning that when it comes down to "crunch time", "big game moments", "playing in hostile environments", or whatever other cliche you wanna use, these two guys will be the ones with the ball and the chance to make something positive happen.
and i am totally fine with "living and dying" by these two guys.

Not me Skip. Respect your view as always. But TB and Ed both have shown a consistent trend of under-performing their averages in NCAA games. Albeit Ed in a small sample of games. I would love to see Gates and Macura step up more this year so that we are not so dependent upon TB in these huge limelight atmospheres. Since Myles is either gone or out until Jan. we will really be depending on either Bernard and or Goodin to ramp up quickly.. It's all about guards at this level typically......

your last statement says it all, and all things considered, TB is a guard. he may play the 3 and sometimes the 4, but he's dropped 15 or so pounds so that he can play more of a 2-3 role, be able to guard other team's 2 when needed, etc.X-lucidity wrote:Not me Skip. i am confident that other guys like JP, etc. will step up at times, but in the end, when the game's on the line, it's going to come down to Ed or TB taking/making the big shots for us.
when/if Myles comes back, he could step into that role a bit if he hasn't lost much from being suspended.

JP and Sumner will likely be the guys at end of games taking big shots. TB will be the guy keeping the team in it but JP has been a better player under pressure. I'm assuming Sumner gets these opportunities primarily because he runs the offense but also because he will likely improve from last year.
