There were 305 transfers after the 06-07 season, and the number is up to 367 after the 09-10 season. With 346 Division I schools, that's an average of just under a transfer per school in 2007 and just over a transfer per school in 2010. As an individual school, it's a small sample size, but less than one more transfer than the 2010 average is nothing crazy. If this begins an annual trend, that's a different story, but right now we have two data points:

2009-2010: 0 transfers
2010-2011: 2 transfers

That's hardly something to freak out about, and it actually falls in line with the national average over a two-year period (albeit too small of a sample size to really be valid).
Two tranfers AND 2 decommits. .
His stat was just transfers. I bet decommits might be just as great or more. As for Chandler a couple decommits in his pocket might be a sign that he had a hard time not getting excited when he went for a visit.

It is a good bet DSR will be in a X uni.
If DSR ends up in a Xavier uniform, I will unblock CM from my facebook page. His 3 am comments to me were getting annoying any way.

Can you now provide the lengthy list of multiple decommits from one school?

I wish Canty and Latham the best and hope they find a school where they can play more.
I really can't think of a guy that had significant success after transferring from X. As I said, Wolf had a pretty good 1st year at UNC-Wilmington...but feel off considerably his seniore year.
In the end, neither Canty or Latham made much of a contribution this past season. Could they in the future? Who knows...but if Martin or Wells or Reynolds come in and make significant contributions, then Canty and Latham leaving will be non-events.

And in the same week.

Ok, let's go with your tendency to exaggerate. On the other side, would you rather have seen Brian Walsh stay and get some good playing time? Considering his performance prior to the transfer, what would that have said about the state of the team, that he's playing decent minutes? I mean, I liked the guy and he looked promising coming in, but it just never worked out.

Part of the reason that both Latham and Canty transferred was because they saw better players in front of them and figured that their playing time would be limited. They looked promising coming in, and Canty at least showed some promise in games, but things weren't working out. It's not like Staten and Spearman (everyone's favorite example, I know), where one was the next star and the other was going to contend for a starting spot as a sophomore. With that situation, they still left because of issues with coaching strategy and player development.

And it’s not surprising that you took my suggestion to relax as hyperbole specifically directed at you considering your penchant for defensiveness.

I think that there are reasonable explanations for all the above mentioned situations and am not too worried. This doesn’t mean that I am not disappointed with these developments; I just don’t share your level of concern while the jury is deliberating.[/quote]

Nope, I was right the first time. My post was not directed at you specifically but you chose to assume it was. Perhaps insolence would have been more appropriate. Look, I have no problem with you being “concerned” and “worried.” I am not, X will be fine, Mack will be fine, it’s rocket science only to you.

I agree to an extent with all but this part. It is not a self-evident truth.

I’d prefer Heil Mack! But that will do.

A lot of people keep saying it's a good bet that DSR still winds up in a Xavier uniform. I live in Indy and know a few people who are pretty well connected in the high school basketball scene here, and I haven't heard one of them say that DSR is still coming to X. Does anyone have any actual facts to back this up or is it just hope at this point, because no one here is mentioning the two in the same breath anymore.
