Based on the amount of European players drafted he might be better of just playing pro in Europe. He will make cash and be in his element.
That being said, it would be interesting to see how a European player would play on a Xavier team.

Remember when GW had that pipeline to European players? Seemed to work for them. No reason to think that it won't work for X.

I am sure the staff has taken this into consideration and it is why they still are on the hunt for talent. If AV comes he comes but if X gets a commitment from another player that is a for sure thing I would not be surprised if they tell AV hold off or how do you say adios in Greek? But I read that one link where it seemed Mr. Vezenkov went out of his way to state that he only signed due to May 20 th deadline so he would have an NCAA option. Maybe I am reading too much into that or snake-bit by a few other high profile recruits who left us at the alter after a verbal. I don't know any more than any other poster obviously and really excited to see him join the incoming class.
AV I am sure is considered a decent get for the coaches but I bet they were not doing hand stands when they heard the news...I am sure they are long past the "let's get real excited" stages about 17 or 18 year old players.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Watching his 3 point shot, it looks like he carries the ball upward infront of his body, and then releases it in front of his forehead.
If guarded, he cannot get a shot off or might be easily blocked.
We shall see.

Alex's ignorant father should hire Keith and bring him over to Bulgaria to teach proper shooting technique since he doesn't seem to be able to understand such skill-teaching as a mere GM/Coach.xukeith wrote:Watching his 3 point shot, it looks like he carries the ball upward infront of his body, and then releases it in front of his forehead.

As we all have learned over the years, Keith is a basketball genius.
Fathers James Hoff and Michael Graham, AD Mike Bobinski, and Head Coaches Staak, Gillen, Prosser, Matta, Miller, & Mack represent a Golden Era of Xavier Men's Basketball. AD Christopher and Head Coach Steele will bring us to an even higher level!

You are, without a doubt, the most negative person on this site. Keith, the guy is 6'8" tall. If you think he can be "easily blocked," you have never played basketball!xukeith wrote:Watching his 3 point shot, it looks like he carries the ball upward infront of his body, and then releases it in front of his forehead.

folks, for those who think the ncaa clearing house is a slippery slope, the road for european player is generally the toughest. often, these kids play on semi pro teams as it's the best competition they can get and some of the guys(not all) are paid. the ncaa will generally make kids who play on those teams sit out before granting them eligibility. it will be interesting to see how this kid does with eligibility. it's not easy by any means.

His family has been very diligent to protect Alex’s amateur status throughout Alex’s secondary years in school. Alex’s father is a GM/Head Coach for a professional basketball team based in Bulgaria and has extensive experience with FIBA and Alex’s sister was a scholarship basketball player at UNCW a few years ago.”
