By the way, UC never won with Big O. He got 2 straight Final 4s then UC immediately won 2 Championships with no O & a new coach. Almost won 3 straight losing to Loyola Illinois. That was 5 straight Final 4s beating Ohio St in both Finals. Watching them beat Wichita today was fun as Wichita was in the MVC with UC when UC made 5 straight Final 4s. My point to all, esp UC haters, I went to most of those UC Games then became appx a 20 yr XU season ticket holder because Larkin started a spark & players & coaches have been running that Little Deuce Koop ever since. Not sure I like the killer instinct term, but we have won every game decided by 6 or less this year. We got every close kill due to good coaching able to swap offense for defense at the finish with our deepest team ever

They won a big old big one today. Congrats to them as they're our best win. Wichita St. is not a team i would want in my bracket. Koop for what's it's worth, Weisy was as fierce a competitor as i've ever seen on a bball court, and one of the nicest guys i've ever met off. A gentle giant.

Xavier doesn't have to worry about who is in THEIR bracket, and neither should we fans.

Let the other teams worry that XAVIER is in "their" bracket!
Let them worry about how "they" are going to beat X!

XU Koop Scoop, you are we won every game where our opponent came close to 6 points exactly. But we had them on the ropes earlier & should never had let them back in the game. It leaves open the possibility that for whatever reason our adversary could steal one back from us. Fatal in the NCAA.

Koop Scoop missed DePaul game while in Hospital. Surgery being scheduled. I am holding off on them picking a date. I am not going to miss our chance for uncharted waters. Any 8 or 9 seed can probably beat any 1 seed. No team in the Nation is strong enough this year. So the 4 teams that get 1 seeds better have whatever instinct it takes to win the close ones. Turnovers seem to be the one thing that overrides that killer instinct. Starting to not like that term since I need surgery. Reading & writing in these columns helps me right now. Thanks folks !

That's why it's so nice to have little Mick and the boys on X's schedule each year.
Pretty much count on a W most years - 8 W's out of the last 12 games.

This chat said it all.....the lack of a true killer instinct to put the opponent away was lacking again for many many reasons. The ability to execute what is needed at the right times , especially the end of a big game. X beat themselves.

Hmmm....the zebras might have had a little bit of influence on the outcome.
But in spite of the bad calls on JP , X didn't make the plays they needed to win the game.

can you admit to the obvious that taking the most productive player out of the game for extended periods might have an effect on the productivity of a team? Can you also admit that with that produtive player out and the leading scorer, even though having a off night. sitting on the bench that an opponent has less to worry about? Can you also admit that other team give scholarships and if they are a top 50 team they have an advantage over a team that has their most productive rebounder and defensive player injured? Yes, X beat themselves but they had a lot of help from 3 guys in stripes and an undermanned squad. I guess you have visited you alma mater in Columbus to post the same thing.

In think the six turnovers in the last four minutes as well as our best scorer looking lost were more important than the officiating. Mack didn’t help either.
