Where is Sumner??? This guy is SUPPOSE TO BE a first round NBA choice this year. He is not scoring consistently, but most of the team is not scoring consistently. Poor free throw shooting. Poor field goal % scoring. Poor 3 point % shooting. The team ranks around 150 give or take in scoring or % shooting. X may or will make the NCAA tournament at the end of the year, but so will 67 other teams. And so far, X is not playing like a top 10 team.....at this rate will be hard to stay top 25. The last 2 games against very good, not great , teams was disappointing.

In the Baylor game they were 2-6
They have struggled to finish around the rim but last night they were getting it done.CU doesn't have the front line Baylor does.I'd rather go inside tha n struggle from behind the arc.Treyvon was 6 for 13.I think everyone else was 1 for 14 :o
I don't think Gaston scored in the second half or if he did it was a bucket or so. I'm not so sure that is not from Colorado initially not taking him seriously(and they guarded him in 2nd half), or he had a good half. Good teams generally have to get the ball into the post during the course of a game to keep teams honest, and/or score the ball. None of these guys in the paint is really a proven scorer or passer. Thus, very predictable to defend even for an undersized team. You could not hide Omara on the defensive end in that game.

This team plays street ball and that it not a good recipe for a run in the tourney and will also not get us road wins in the Big East. Get used to a lot of zone defenses against us. I agree that Tre is about our only reliable option offensively at this time. I thought Gaston played well and hopefully this is a sign of things to come from him.

So we were beaten by Goldilocks and the 4 bison. It was the altitude that really beat the players. How many airballs did they put up and why? No fuel in the engine is my opinion.
Can we move on because there are a lot of games left.

Butler lost to Indiana STATE, St. Mary''s lost to UT-Arlington, Iowa State lost to Iowa.....all top 25 teams that lost to teams they shouldn't lose to.

It happens. Get over it. Move on.

NO team out there is perfect, NO team is going to go undefeated. Why people agonize over EVERY game or EVERY loss is beyond me.

unless you're being sarcastic, this just isn't true. JP hit a slump. happens to all players. i don't anticipate that continuing.

i agree on Gaston. didn't think we used him or OMara enough in the 2nd half.

as a team, they just need to find ways to buckle down on defense even when the shots aren't falling. let's all realize that this team will only go as far as Tre, JP (and Gates - just waiting for him to break out) can shoot it well, Sumner can get into the paint and make good decisions, whether that's dishing or finishing, our bigs can play slightly above average, and we keep rebounding how we have been.

IMO, this is a "young" team. guys are still finding their roles, figuring out who can do what, etc. it takes time. sometimes, during that time, you have losses.

they will get better.

Have not read much of this long thread so apologies if I am rehashing old crap. My take on this game:
1) Silver lining. Rashid Gaston looked to gain confidence and easily his best game of the year.
2) We continue to slump from deep. This game JP, Bernard & Gates totally inept from beyond the arc. (a developing lousy trend)
3) Young team as well as a few new transfers struggling to gel.
4) Biggest issue, & not even close, is our subpar PG play. Ed seems lost and tends to force things often. Q Goodin is a Frosh. Played like one Wed. His blunders early in the 2nd half completely derailed X's solid run where we were actually on the verge of blowing out to a lead which could have demoralized Col.
* All the more reason for me to reiterate: Our season depends upon the return of Myles. (assuming he comes back healthy and within a few weeks would be back to the Myles of last season- big assumption) With Myles, X can evolve and mature into a legit top ten team and compete for the Final Four. Without Myles - - - well, an inconsistent top 35 squad that would need to be thrilled with a trip to the Sweet 16...

Agree with many of your points except for youth. Our PG is a third year soph, SG is a junio, SF is a junior, other SF is a senior as is our center. The bench is young, but Ed and Tre will most likely be gone tomorrow. The street ball comment was made by two of my sources.

You need a source to exclaim street ball?

an unnamed source to boot
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
