Cool analysis.
Good recruiting info for ACC against other conferences.
with all the switching of conferences with schools moving during past 10 years, I wonder if that had a big impact.

From the analysis it appears the big 10 has some of the best coaches. To consistently do well and be considered one of the top conferences but have less than elite talent is the definition of great coaching. Of course the opposite is also true, making the Pac 10 and SEC look a bit suspect on the coaching front. The title this past year helps the SEC look better but no doubt that conference has been overrated quite regularly over the years vs what they accomplish in the tourney. Kansas of course is known as a regular disappointment and TX definitely looks bad.

The other way to look at this is that certain programs produce NBA players so it should be easier to convince top talent to keep going there.

Just curious, what is your basis for saying that Kansas is a regular disappointment?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kansas_Jay ... on_results

Kansas' recent results(9 years)under Bill Self include: 1 championship, 1 runner-up, 3 Elite 8's, 1 Sweet 16, 1 2nd round, and 2 1st rounds. 6 out of the last 9 years Kansas has made it to the Sweet 16 or better. And they have finished in 1st or tied for 1st in their league in 8 out of the last 9 years. That's disappointing? What would Self and Kansas had to have done in order for you to not call them a disappointment?

2003–04 Bill Self 24–9 12–4 T-2 Elite Eight
2004–05 Bill Self 23–7 12–4 T-1 First Round
2005–06 Bill Self 25–8 13–3 T-1 First Round
2006–07 Bill Self 33–5 14–2 1 Elite Eight
2007–08 Bill Self 37–3 13–3 T-1 National Champions
2008–09 Bill Self 27–8 14–2 1 Sweet Sixteen
2009–10 Bill Self 33–3 15–1 1 Second Round
2010–11 Bill Self 35–3 14–2 1 Elite Eight
2011–12 Bill Self 32–6 16–2 1 National Runners-up
