From Blue Ribbon's Chris Dortch----
Tennessee hoops adding a couple of tough non-BCS teams to schedule, but I wouldn't call them "mid-majors:" Wichita State and Xavier. Smart.

Now that Pearl's gone, I've got no problem having another go against the Vols. It's exciting to have the opportunity to get as many BCS scalps as one can during the OOC. It'll also give our young roster an opportunity to grow up very fast.
Fathers James Hoff and Michael Graham, AD Mike Bobinski, and Head Coaches Staak, Gillen, Prosser, Matta, Miller, & Mack represent a Golden Era of Xavier Men's Basketball. AD Christopher and Head Coach Steele will bring us to an even higher level!

I'm fine with playing Tennessee, I just didn't recall seeing anything about this possibly happening.

The non conference schedule overall is favorable for younger team. Memphis and Vanderbilt at home, while not easy are winnable. I don't think Vandy has much coming back do they ?
The Anaheim tournament has winnable games in it.
If they are indeed playing Tenn. that will be a good matchup. I assume this game is starting in Knoxville as a home and home series ?
I don't think it would be a bad idea to schedule South Carolina in the next year or so with Frank Martin there.

Mack and Bobo have to schedule very astutely this year. They can't tank the schedule, and fill it up with Illinois-Chicago and Wisconsin-Whitewater types, but they can't have us getting our brains beaten in, either, as this team finds its way during the season.
If you recall, we all like the way Chaney would play anyone, any where, but towards the end of his career, Temple's lousy non-conf. record was really hurting its at-large chances.

I think I heard that Vandy's top 6 scorers from last year are gone. Has anyone from XU's staff confirms a home-and-home with Tenn? I haven't seen anything.X is elite wrote:The non conference schedule overall is favorable for younger team. Memphis and Vanderbilt at home, while not easy are winnable. I'm sure we are extremely attractive now, having lost 4 starters, and 80% of our scoring. People are probably lining up to play us, because of our reputation as a top non BSC team. Average fans won't realize we will be a shell of our former selves til February.

How exciting!!!! I just don't get the negative tone of so many on this Board. It is like somebody killed their dog most of the time We have an exciting class coming in with a lot of talent. I love the way we schedule and can't wait to see how next year shapes up. My better half ran into somebody yesterday that wanted to give up their tickets because of the ML situation. Just goes to show you can't please all of the people alll of the time. I say we are moving on. Let's see what these young guys got. I hope we take UC off the schedule. I am tired of playing them. Let's get a series going with someone else and let UD and Miami, serve as our rivalry games. The Bearcat - Muskie thing needs a rest.

I just don't get that. Lyons was one of 13 guys on the roster, and presumably X is your school that you've followed for years. Lyons' behavior never even came close to bothering me to the point that I wouldn't watch or support X, or not go to a game because of him.My better half ran into somebody yesterday that wanted to give up their tickets because of the ML situation.

I know Mr. N. It is mind boggling. I had another big advertiser tell me he was disappointed that Mack wanted good guys over good players. That he just wanted to win. I can tell you this win or lose, I will be in my seats regardless!
