Not the same St Joes that played usf

St Joes is getting killed right now. I and we know were a very very good team but obviously have lacked consistency this year. Looks like it's gonna beat them today against oklahoma, there down 16 now with about 16 to go

In today's Chicago Tribune, Dionte Christmas said that MSU's defense was "probably the toughest defensive team I've played against (in) my whole career".

Assuming Oklahoma's lead holds up, this isn't shaping up as a stellar tournament for the A-10. If X loses to 6 seed Purdue tomorrow, I'm sure people are going to say that the A10 was overrated, as two of our teams were defeated handily and a third going out on the first weekend.

...maybe it was also the fact that X played with little or no passion in either St Joe game, which may have made St Joe looked real good vs us.

As for Oklahoma, they had a weapon we never had...a 6-7 guy who could guard the hell out of Calathes, would not give him enough space to pass over the top from the wing, and never let him go left and down the lane. Calathes is the key to holding St Joe down. That and too many second shots for OK was the ticket. They were prepared, had better athletes, and Martelli did not have a plan C.

The continuing attribution of losses to St Joe to "lack of intensity" is still faulty observation and logic. If anything, St Joe seems to bring out passion and throw out strategy and clear thinking in our players. They were playing hard, but not smart. Please do not mistake confusion or frustration, or just plain better players on the other side of the ball, with lack of intensity. OUr guys play hard. IF and when we eventually lose, it won't be from lack of intensity.

You have to admit, Carlos, that the Temple and SJU losses don't reflect well on the A-10. Temple was a "hot" upset pick, and they were really never in the game with MSU shutting down Christmas like nobody in the A10 could.

And SJU was also something of a "sleeper" pick, and OU pretty much had the game in hand the entire way.

Correct or not, it looks like the A10 teams can't step up in class on the big stage. X has to change that today. The win over a 14 seed Georgia won't do it. A win over Purdue will look good.

A win today proves again that X is the class of the A-10.
