Pretty sad when you can't bear to even see "irritating" posts. I mean isn't bickering the heart of what goes on here? Sometimes I get the feeling that the accusations about Xavier fans being elitist are on target. Mr. Neutral probly wont see this post as I have taken him to task for intolerance in the past. Gotta go to work, cant respond to responses.
nolife, I'm talking about when it goes way past being "irritating", and two posters reach the "f*** you", "no, f*** you!" stage. At that point, rational discussion is pretty much out the window, and neither poster is doing anything more than digging in his heels, and doing his best to insult the other one.

And I hate to burst your bubble, but I can't really remember any of your posts, or what we might have disagreed on. As to "intolerance", usually that means "I want you to tolerate my posts while I'm not going to tolerate yours".

If and when things die down, you can always remove the screen name from your foes list.
Personally I find the "ignore" route not to work very well for me since people keep firing back at them which gives you kinda a one sided conversation. So I have taken to only looking at those threads that sound like something I would like to read and pretty much ignore the rest. I too come here to get tidbits of information, info on TV coverage, and the like, simply ignoring a lot of threads. It works somewhat.

Having acted as moderator of a board I do know the pitfalls. I do thank some for clearly feeling as I do and to know I am not alone in how I feel. I did not read this full thread as it was getting to that point that some of us don't care for. For what it is worth I will still be stopping here but not nearly as often as I used to.

It's just what somebody thinks ...

Yes, but if you don't see the posts, isn't it an "out of sight, out of mind" scenario?

It is for me Gary. Altough I wonder how many posters here will say "Hmm, I wonder when Woods' ban will be over...I can't wait to read his enlightning views on Xavier basketball".

Any poster can always undo the "ignore" function. Whatever works for anyone is OK with me.

I'd say everyone except you.

Gary, thanks so much for pointing all this out. The post immediately below yours is blocked for me now, but it still gives me the power to look at the specific post if I want, which for three specific posters (and a few more are currently riding the fence) will be never.
Mark Twain was wrong. Golf is NOT a good walk spoiled. It is a shared personal experience in a majestic wonderland guided by God, whose name is called frequently during the round.

That's what I'm saying! This should work for everyone. If you don't want to see someone's posts, you don't have to. If you want to see someone's posts, you can.

No more whining about me being so negative! They won't want to see my calm and realistic posts! It is a win-win!

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
