I love how everyone is giving Mick props for his postgame comments. Hasn't he used the "take off the jerseys" speech before? Guess they'll be dressing in a different locker room again as punishment. Let's wait to see what kind of discipline he dishes out before we crown him king. If he is a man of his word, Gates, Mooj, and #14 should be gone for the year. No excuse for throwing a ball at someone's head, punching, stomping on a defenseless person's head, and going after someone who is far away from all the action. I'll give Mick some props if he has the B***s to do what he said he would do in the postgame interview.

MC's comments were right on target. If he doesn't remove Gates from the team, he has no credibility. I believe he will do whats right.

Talk is talk. Actions speak louder than words. If Mick has an ounce of integrity, Gates will have just played his last game for UC.

The media loved Cronin's post-game presser, but why? He said all the right things and seemed appropriately embarrassed, but he would lead you to believe he watched this fight on television instead of having the best seat in the house. When the whole team wants to fight, "I was going to call a timeout" rings hollow, especially when the coach floated around the periphery as things got started. If that wasn't enough, for Cronin – the man who gave Lance Stephenson a scholarship – to spin into mentor mode and remind us his players are "here to get an education" is to insult our collective intelligence. They, like Born Ready, are there to play basketball for their coach. When, to a man, their reaction is the same, no amount of clichéd grandstanding or promises of punishment and control could deflect attention from Cronin's gross negligence.

I liked what Mick said but didnt really believe it all. Though i would take Mick's comments over Mack's. About the brawl i mean. Mack didnt seem like he cared

What would people like Mack to say? The program is garbage and that anyone who threw a punch will never play for X again? He should prejudge our players based on tape that he didn't see extensively?

I'm glad CM has our players' backs. Apologies will certainly come from both sides. He lamented the fight. That's enough. Also, refer to joel's post about Cronin's response and the fact he has nothing to coach foe.

This was a short fistfight. It's embarrassing but common in rivalry games. Get off the holier than thou hours and get over it.

Coach Cronin did his absolute best to to avoid exercising leadership and authority during the fracas. He remained well in the background and was a mere spectator while all heck broke loose. If there ever was a guy with a "deer in the headlights look," Coach Cronin possessed it.

If he knew it was coming, as he claimed, he should have been in front of his players commanding them to stay seated and keep quiet.

Our guys made mistakes, but the person with the most control at that point and at that location on the floor was Coach Cronin. Blaming the refs is deflective of his own ineptitude.

As I said in another thread, Cronin did NOT control his bench. Pure and simple. His post game righteousness is simply a deflection techique.

As with most Cincinnatians and alums, I am upset with the whole macho thing/attitude, but I agree with the above comments about Cronin's post game. If you have ever listened to him after games, he is emotional with high's and lows, but mostly lows. He had to come out and say the things he said. Mack was no different than his usual demeanor. No high or lows--pretty neutral. He always says he will wait to see the tape. He does not react emotionally without thinking first.

The big telling point will come out during the press conference. I would expect that many of the XU players will have to make public apologies and that we will see Dee Davis and Brad Redford as our starting guards agains Oral Roberts!

Mick was 5 maybe 6 guys from the players trying to taunt X players and I say X players because more than TU and Mark were being harrassed. Mick want a timeout. Mick how about going down you bench and telling them to shut up(they were sitting there not playing) or take a walk to the locker room. That happens then maybe it ends like we wanted it to end. It is your team Mick. You are like the guy who closes the door to the barn after the horse is out.
