Wow, this post cracks me up. No wonder I don't come on here much anymore. Too many pretenders & too many "tools". Right Joey? Stanley is not a Clown, so take a deep breath from your inhaler. I found notihng wrong in what he said. He's entitled to his opinion and he was backing up his teammates. We're not on the team, remember?

Oh, BTW. Dayton Sucks! In case anyone forgot.

He is indeed entitled to his opinion; however, that doesn't mean that it is appropriate for him to express it in this manner. Also, I think that conference awards should be pretty far down on his list of priorities right now.

So now we have the expression police. I think it is Stanley's right (he has earned it) and maybe you need to learn a little tolerance.

If Stanley stands up and calls people out maybe they need to look and see if their game is lacking. Roberts is a very good player but where was he in crunch time, where was his leadership, maybe a few hand to floor slaps and a bit of D might have inspired his club. Maybe scoring more than 5 or 15 points could have ment a win or two. Maybe the URI player should learn to play the game within himself and not commit fouls that find him sitting on the bench when the team needs him the most. Maybe the Fordham kid, Dunstun, needs to see that he is the big guy everyone looked to instead of fading away when the game got tight. Sorry but I'd take Stanley's D over roberts, Dunstun, and Forbes because I know Stanley brings it every game, asks Roberts. Those tight games at the end....defense won those games and it works more times than it doesn't.

I respect the fact that Stanley is standing up for his teammates; I simply do not think that this was the appropriate manner in which to defend them.

What is the appropriate way? "I say, A10, you have grieved me by ignoring my teammates and that's all that needs be spoken." ?
Think about it people, and it's been pointed out elsewhere--All Stanley Burrell did with his comments was:
*Show his teammates they are more important to him than the awards he received.
*Take the media focus off Drew's ankle.
*Put Xavier squarely front and center on every talk show and national TV outlet from here to Xanadu.
*Give everyone on the chatboards something to talk about.
*Furtrher enhance his role as a leader of this Xavier team.
*And provide his teammates a reason to refocus their attention on that first quarterfinal game and play the entire tourney with the idea that they get no respect and "Let's do something about it."
Too often all of us, myself included, tend to paralyze while we over-analyze. In this case, Stanley Burrell has done the A10 a service, by focusing media attention on the tournament and himself and his team. That's not all bad.

Just had a minute long or so segment on 11:00 PM Sportscenter. Anchor Neil Everett talked a little about it, then read a few quotes or so from the rant. Hope it shows the rest of the people out there that we are for real and can't wait to prove it to everyone.

anyone who was ever any good at sports and really cared about them would love to have stanley as a teammate. this whole thing just reinforces that. Hopefully his passion will help fuel a deep tournament run.

What fire!!! Stan should have spoke up when St. Joes coach Phil Martelli called him a SOB, instead of giving him a pass. I'm sure Stan's mother is really proud of the way he spoke up for her after that moron Martelli called his mom a Biatch! I loss all respect for Martelli after that and was really disappointed in Stan for letting him get away with it. So now he wants to call all of the A-10 coaches pathetic for not voting anyone from X to the 1st team, when all along the person he should of called pathetic was Martelli.
