While the All Conference selections were predictable...Here's hoping the Musketeers ride the 1st team snubs all the way to a conference touney championship and all tourney and mvp honors!

Re: All Conference Teams announced
I don't see those selections as a "snub" in any way.
We don't have anyone among the top 20 scorers.
DB and CJ are the #12 and #16 rebounders, respectively.
Lavender and Burrell are #4 and #7 in assists.
We have nobody in the top 15 in steals or blocked shots.
Basically, it's been such a team effort that no one player has been forced to establish himself as "the guy" who would have the stats to even be in the running for 1st team status.

Based on Burrell's rant that Dow just posted on his blog, it looks like the Muskies will be in Snub Mode for the A-10s. Great stuff, Hammer.XU-XHI wrote:While the All Conference selections were predictable...Here's hoping the Musketeers ride the 1st team snubs all the way to a conference tourney championship and all tourney and mvp honors!

Re: All Conference Teams announced
Stanley 3rd team is a snub. Again we probably all would have predicted the snubs based on numbers due to the team concept X bought in to, but should an all conference team or POY be based on numbers or what that person meant to a team. Regardless of numbers who was the most feared player on the court each night? I don't beleive that night in and night out X didn't have one of the top 5 players that nobody wanted to face.

Re: All Conference Teams announced
I think that since the C in NCAA stands for Collegiate and these guys are STUDENT-athletes I think it is important that the All-Academic Team gets some pub:
Kieron Achara, Duquesne (Student-Athlete of the Year)
Jimmy Baron, Rhode Island
Kevin Lish, St. Louis (also 3rd Team and Defensive Team)
Yves Mekongo Mbala, LaSalle
Luke Meyer, St. Louis
I just think sometimes we as fans forget what the real reasons these kids are here, which is to get an education (at least in the A10 and other non-BCS conferences). I think that is important that their academic merit be held on the same pedestal of their athletic accomplishments.
