I for one love CSTV. They have games other than Duke and North Carolina and the Big 10. They have a great format for the halftime show. Everything is really cool. Just pony up the extra money and enjoy a ton of good college basketball. Teams you don't normally get to watch.

you've yet to answer a very simple question. what should the atlantic ten have done instead??
MusketeerNDH wrote:I have no use whatsoever for CSTV...all it does is alienate people from being able to see one of the best games of the year, not just locally but nationally...I mean, both XU and UD are in the Top 25, very heated rivals...and this game is buried on a sh!t channel with most of the country unable to see it...

Why we ever signed an agreement with this network is beyond me...and no one can tell me it is benefitting us...especially if the game is on the road and half of Cincy/NKy cannot even get the channel at a sports bar!!

Yeah, great nationally reaching network.
cstv isn't limiting anyone from seeing the game. in fact if it wasn't for them no one would see the game at all. no one else was interested in the a-10. we signed the deal because there was nothing else being offered other than the league flipping the bill for the production costs themselves and then just giving them away. even then espn wouldn't have picked it up because they're contractually obligated to show the acc and big east games.

more people will see this game nationally than saw david west's 47 point performance. both teams were ranked that year as well.

it's not the best deal, so don't say that i or anyone else is saying that it is. it was, however, the best option at the time. people bitch about the tv deal, but i've yet to hear any of them say what should have been done differently given the options that were available. it's still better than any deal the league has ever had previously.

Welcome, fellow scholar! Apparently there are no filters for certain highly academic words and phrases on the new board. Where is JC when we need him? Wait, I resent that statement.

Since I received a warning from the moderator regarding my choice of vocabulary, I will refrain from any further posts.

However, I do NOT apologize.

But you want the question answered, here you go, in my most eloquent form:

Don't sleep with the first gal that propositions you, there are better ones out there. i.e. CSTV isn't the only network, and don't tell me no one else was interested in the A10, because that isn't true either.

Happy?

Bye.

If you do change your mind about responding, the question is, who are these better networks that are not ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX/ESPN ??

I'm still with #24, NDH. Everyone agrees with your point about national networks being better for exposure, recruiting etc. We get it!

The question you are ignoring is "What are/were the specific better alternatives to CSTV?" If you can stop fuming and concentrate for a minute on facts, I would love to hear what other national or even regional network was missed. Educate us, please.

I am going to order direct tv or some form of satellite in the near future...more channels, more HD channels. the only problem is the 2 year contract but at least i can reinstall direct tv at any location in the US free of charge if i have to move to some other location
