Gary, your characterization of me is chimerical! Your use of the old lawyer adage is getting to the point of over use but I guess you do what you do.Mr. Neutral wrote:Face it, mm, unlike some of us, you just never get pissed at how X plays. Mildly disappointed, maybe (and even that might be strong), but never pissed. If X lost 98-4, many fans would be in an uproar, but you'd be mentioning that they seem to be nice kids. A 8-20 season would upset many fans, but you'd see it as 20 missed opportunities, and 20 games which were stolen by the refs.
As I've said before, IF you're never going to get pissed about a poor performance, it's only logically consistent to NOT get excited about a good performance, either. The only consistent reactions a fan can have are either (1) react positively AND negatively to a team's performance, or (2) have the SAME reaction to either a positive or negative performance.

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Not sure which "old lawyer adage" you're referring to, mm, but let's be honest. I probably overreact to individual games. You underreact. They're both legitimate ways of expressing our fandom.
My only point is that if you're going to be consistent, you have to be either react strongly to both the good and bad, or react very passively to the good and bad. And to say that either method of fandom is the "best" way is just goofy. It's "best" for that person, not everyone.

I check the UD board sometimes, and I've noticed that the UD board goes through periods where they don't allow new user registrations. I've noticed that it's been almost two months now since the last new user registration was allowed. I guess they must be getting tired of people getting on BG's case or criticizing the program. I am by no means an expert on message boards, but in comparison to the UD board and the xavierhoops board, this board is more honest and fair.muskieman wrote:It is the ud type boards where they see success so rarely where they go hyper.
