Travel Plans Info Request for Tomorrow

Postby somebody » Wed Feb 20, 2008 12:29 pm

Looks like the snow is slowing and hopefully will hold off for tomorrow when somebody plans to head over to Columbus with my sister to pick up her son and head for our annual trek to Cintas. Thanks to X for remembering their retirees with tickets and Andy worked out a parking pass.

I suggested that we stop at Rookwood Commons for an early pre-game repast. They looked over the dining options and were rather interested in the Rusty Bucket but info on the net says it is scheduled to open in February 2008. Does anyone know if it is open yet? If not there are plenty of other options there and I figure it is a good location to eat on the way down 71.

I should be checking back in later today. If you do know anything either leave it here or PM me. Gonna try to get out for my workout today as I will need the energy for my trip to section 206.

Have no info for you but Quatman Cafe is smoke free these days and they have one of the best burgers in town.
Good as drink is, it ends in thirst.

Yeah, I know Quatman's well from my Cincy days and ate (and drank) there many times over the years. It would be fine for me but I think my sister might not appreciate the ambiance haha. Glad they are smoke free now. Everything where I live is. In fact there is a watering hole down the street from me and they have an outside patio (where they can smoke). My sister noticed people sitting out there the other day in the freezing weather. Glad I gave it up almost 20 years ago ... never regretted it.

I did notice that Rusty Bucket has a nice beer menu so know my nephew will like that. He said he has been to one of them in Columbus.

checked the rusty bucket site, listed locations BUT rookwood listed as coming FEB 2008: passed by there last week, noticed it 'set up' don't think it was open then. PHONE #'s listed at favorite location, they'd give you rookwood phone# to check on opening..

Thanks for the info. Their site was what I had seen also and since there was no date mentioned in February I just thought I would take a chance and see if anybody had been by there recently.

Heck my cohorts may change their mind by tomorrow anyway. If not we will probably just do a drive-by and have a backup in mind. At any rate ... no big deal.

Down here in SE.MO it has sleeted and is heading towards Louisville and then up to Cincy. The ice will be here till Friday morning and then up to Cincy! So by tonight, during the game, you guys are going to have fun on those roads around the Cintas.

Another good place to go pre-game is Arthur's on Hyde Park Square. Great burgers.

My son and I will be there tonight along with 4 other XU fans.

Lot's of e-mails flying this morning but as of now I think we are going to try it. It had looked earlier this week like we were getting a window but seems it is not to be.
