This proves it!
Yesterday I was driving thru Dayton and tuned into the Owls/Criers game to catch a score. It was half-time and Mike Kelly (Dayton's recently retired football coach) was being inducted into the UD Hall of Fame. Larry Hansell (UD play-by-play radio guy) was announcing the induction. He introduced Mike Kelly giving him credit for his 20 plus years and his many successes and accomplishments. Are you ready for what followed? He went on to say that Mike Kelly's name is now synonymous with Bowden, Bryant, and Paterno. I couldn't believe my ears. Are you kidding me!?!?! This absolutely proves how delusional these people are.

I envy you.
I would have done anything to hear that on the radio. You must a have had a great, free, unexpected laugh out of that.

Surprisingly, I really didn't laugh at first. I just sat there driving with my mouth hanging open in total disbelief. After about 20 seconds, I asked my wife if I had heard that right, and she confirmed. Then we had a pretty good laugh. But that is nothing new, we laugh at the Criers quite often.

"Kelly's name is now synonymous with Bowden, Bryant, and Paterno."
Why, because they are either dead or old men.

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

That is hilarious! and the longer you dwell on it, the more you begin to feel a sense of sympathy - life without medication for the Dayton fan is all roaring white noise and fleeting, false images. Sad.
Anyway, I encountered my own Dayton fan delusion today on local Cincinnati Radio. The guy was imparting how big it was to have Wright in the lineup and how when he gets back bla bla bla. Well, in support of his argument, he listed Wright's stats as 16 ppg, 10 rpg, and 8 assists. Wow. I knew right then what I was dealing with. Looked it up: 10.4 / 6 / .4. That's a little different. Like on the average side of different.
