Postby treadguy » Thu Feb 07, 2008 2:47 pm

TAKE A LOOK AT THEIR REMAINGING SCHEDULE. THAT HOME FLOOR WILL PAY OFF FOR THEM. i see only 3 more loses. they are the suprise to challenge us for the regular season crown. debate?

They already have 3 losses so 3 more will give them a 10-6 league record. That will not win the league. The league will be won by a team with no more then 4 losses.

Didn't they lose last night to Richmond? I still think URI and ST.Joes(despite last night' loss) are the main threats.

This is how I see the league shaking out and Xavier better not lose more then 3 games the rest of the way if they want a chance to win the league. Xavier has the toughest remaining schedule by far.

Xavier: 13-3 (Losses at Rhode Island & St. Joe)
Rhode Island: 12-4 (losses at Umass & Temple)
St. Joe: 11-5 (losses at Xavier, Rhode Island & Dayton)
Temple: 11-5 (Losses at Dayton & at St. Joe)
Dayton: 10-6 (losses at Lasalle, Xavier)
Umass: 10-6 (Losses at Temple at Rhode Island)
Richmond: 10-6 (losses at Duquesne & Xavier, hm to Umass)
Duquesne: 9-7
Lasalle: 7-9
St. Louis: 6-10
Fordham: 4-12
St. Bonnie: 2-14
GW: 1-15

not to nitpick, but your wins and losses come out to 106-102. isn't that number supposed to be equal? if you make xavier 11-5 it would come out right at 104-104. ;)

I may have missed something so if it makes you feel better I will make Xavier 12-4, Dayton 11-5 and Temple 10-6 or something like that. Either way the team that wins the league will most likely be 13-3 or 12-4. I can see Xavier losing 3 on the road and those losses can come to any of their remaining teams they play on the road. I can also see Xavier winning out which is not likely. Bottom line I think the champ will be either Xavier, St. Joe or Rhode Island.

geez, just poking a little fun. i agree that it will probably come down to x, rhody or st. joe's. i would be very surprised if x doesn't win the regular season though.

if they can win at st. joe.........the rest are safe. i still stand by the claim, watch out for them. they own the tie breaker against us. could easily end up complicated at the top.

Actually Richmond is more of threat then Temple. Richmond who beat Temple already and then won at Duquesne yesterday has a good chance to run the table and go into the Xavier game which is the last of the year at 11-4. Who would have thought Richmond would have a chance to finish at or near the top of the league.
