Atlantic City Hotels
I'm considering going to the A10 tournament. Any advice on safe, clean, convenient hotels in Atlantic City is very much appreciated. Thanks!

The Borgata is the newest and best of an improving AC. It was built to compete with the best of Las Vegas with good food, modern design, a huge casino. I think I heard they sunk over a billion dollars in to it.
I was out there for business in the Fall, and it is far and away the best AC has to offer.

Borgata, no question.
AC is a dump, I cant believe the A10 would choose this location.

If I remember correctly the Borgata is a decent ways off the boardwalk, and from experience it is a pain in the butt to not stay right in the middle of the action.
I'm staying at the Howard Johnson via recommendation from other MMers. $500 for all four nights, although $225 of that is for Sat night alone.

I stayed at a HoJo just off the boardwalk last year for $140 for the single night X was in the tourney. For some reason about 20 minutes after X's game a drunken Atlantic City seagull flew into the full size glass sliding door in my room. The Artist wrote:If I remember correctly the Borgata is a decent ways off the boardwalk, and from experience it is a pain in the butt to not stay right in the middle of the action.

They gave me another room at no extra charge but the entire experience was subpar. I'm saving my dollars for the big tourney run.

Go on ebay and put in atlantic city in the travel category. You will find the Fairfield Skyline Towers. They are one block off the boardwalk right across from Trump. You should be able to get a one bedroom apt. for about $125 a night. We stayed there last year for 99 a night. Very nice. It is a time share, but you are renting from someone who owns it so you don't have to sit through any presentation. Lots of room, Jacuzzi tub etc. Great deal.

an alternative stay! ATLANTIC CITY, near. We found Ocean City, NJ due south, 8 MILE. Condos abundant. B&B's. Off season, reasonable rates. Next to no traffic to and from AC. 45 mph scenic drive. 2 1/2 mile boardwalk, also shopping district. DRY!!!
Quiet retreat after a full day of bball. go online for possibilities. We found Atlantic City to be a great place for the A10, Boardwalk Hall a beautiful, historic arena, Championship atmosphere. X needs every fan possible.

The Tropicana, which is a short walk (5-10 min walk) down the boardwalk from boardwalk hall, is only $123 a night.
