First, Sigma and all those whining about Martelli's comments, shut up! The intention was to give Burrell his due for being a thorn in the side of the Hawks during his time at X. Martelli wasn't being mean with his S.O.B. comment.

I'm so sick and tired of this politically correct crap. Can't people just relax instead of always trying to make a bigger issue out of things than what they really are?

Have you ever called someone a name that, when taken out of context, might be considered inappropriate? If an outsider heard just a small part they might be offended, but it wasn't a big deal when taken as part of the whole conversation.

I'm pretty sure many of us on this board have said, "hey, b!tch," to some of our friends. Are we being disrespectful? Not at all. But to someone who analyzes things to no end and has a politically correct bug up his can, it might be labeled as mean and hurtful.

Martelli meant no disrespect and was just using S.O.B. to add emphasis to give an idea of just how much Burrell has hounded him and the Hawks. So RELAX!

Depending on how things are said, even if the words are the same, they can have different meanings.

If I find out my wife won $10k in the lottery, I might say, "that's great," because it's good news.

If I find out that she got a flat in one of her new tires, I might say, "that's great," in a sarcastic way.

The words are the same, the meaning is totally different. If Martelli's comments were made in an insulting manner, it would be a problem. But he was actually praising Stan and, in fact, Burrell had no problem with the coach's statement. He was appreciative of what Martelli had to say.

So, if the guy he was talking about isn't upset, why would you be?

Is there any chance of banning Sigma? He/she/it is also over on the Charolette board posting as "oldskool", stirring the same pot. He joined our board on or after Feb 11th, joined the Charolette board on the 11th. He/she/it is, at best, a troll, at worst so foolish as to believe what he/she/it is saying. If possible, please ban.
