I think Martelli's comments concerning Burell were unprofessional and totally uncalled for. His name calling was demeaning and childish to say the least. He showed absolutely no class and owes Burrell an apology.

Stop being an appologist and making excuses for Martelli, everyone knew exactly what he meant. If Martelli wanted to say somethig positive about Burell, he would have done so without the sarcasm, the whole purpose of sarcasm is to discredit and injure a person's self respect. Anyone who thinks that his comments were meant to be a compliment must be smoking crack.

Um, I think Phil Martelli has been the most complimentary coach towards Xavier in my lifetime. He was joking and people were laughing. It is the great relationship that Xavier and St. Joes have.

Of course, it is the person who lacks the ability to think critically for him/herself that, when confronted with the fallacy of their own arguments, totally abandons substance and is left with only personal attacks. Get Real - I don't know what it is your'e smoking, but most normal people do not compliment someone by calling them a SOB, and most normal people do not accept being called an SOB as a compliment...... "Don't urinate on my head and then tell me it's raining". The next time someone calls your mother a Bi**h Get Real, thank them for the compliment.

Furthermore,I found Martelli's comment (about Burrell being in school for 9 years) unconscionable and demeaning.

Actually I'm more outraged with the X fans who are defending and making excuses for Martelli, than I am with Martelli (at least he was honest).

How about sticking up for your players X fans, no other team would allow Martelli to get away with making such derogatory remaks about one of their players.
