....0-2 this week instead of 2-0? This could have happened pretty easily based on both tight games and we would have been 18-6 instead of 20-4 heading into the toughest part of our league schedule.
We should have drilled St. Louis. Its nice to get that tip at the end, but if the game goes to OT, we probably lose. That loss could have been devastating for this team down the stretch based on the lead we had and could have carried over to Sunday's St. Joe's game.
Nonetheless, i hope they learn from it and drill Charlotte. I don't see them beating RI at there place. Has any A-10 team beaten RI at their place?

No (insert any league here) team has won at URI this season.
The four losses are:
76-72 @ Boston College (Nov 21)
92-83 @ Dayton (Jan 9)
68-61 @ St. Louis (Jan 17)
78-76 @ UMass (Feb 7)

Well let's be the first then.No reason we can't beat them.
On the matter of "what ifs"-what if we had beaten Tennesee. We 'd be in the top 10.What if we were undefeated-we might be #1!!!

Yeah but we beat St. Louis at St. Louis so if you do the math (carry the one) then we got it....GrimeTime wrote:No (insert any league here) team has won at URI this season.

Re: What if we went....
First X must beat Charlotte. Then think about Rhode Island. This is no time to start looking ahead. I know it's a cliche but one damn game at a time, please. And Charlotte is not an easy place or team to play...

You know why we went 2-0 instead of 0-2?
Cause this group of guys are winners. Pure and simple. They have the instinct.
Aside from Tennessee, where we just ran out of gas, we've closed out the games.
Miami doesn't count. It's how we learned this lesson.

Wedgeman, welcome to MM.
I regret to inform you that the franchises on negative thinking and what ifs, positive and negative, have been awarded in perpetuity, and there is a waiting list.
Our team, and we by extension, are not entitled to beat, let alone drill, anyone. Well maybe Coppin State. This league is full of tough minded teams with good coaches. Both Martelli and Majerus were doing a great job motivating and manipulating the games last week. Yes we have a great team this year, but no one, including Kansas or Georgetown, is "entitled", required, or certain to drill apparently inferior teams. Sean does not simple order up a drilling, then send it out on the court, where it occurs automatically.
Geeze, we pulled out two great games, and get yet another thread of unfulfillable expectations. Enjoy any win for its ups and downs and its ultimate satisfaction, whatever warts and floaters may make it less than perfecto.

Re: What if we went....
This made me laugh a little. Aside from the two of our four losses that we blew late, how many have we blown late? None. And, in the other two, we just got pasted.mhettel wrote:You know why we went 2-0 instead of 0-2?

It just seems like excuses for not getting it done. Miami taught us a lesson, but Tenn we just ran out of gas. What if it happens again? The moons weren't aligned properly? They were looking ahead to a bigger game in three weeks? They were just due for a loss?
After the way we lost some games last year, did it really take the Miami game to let the seniors, juniors and sophomores know that they need to bring it every game? As for the UT game, isn't overcoming fatigue part of the challenge? Are the Vols in better shape than us?
Honestly, I think the other teams just made more plays when they needed to. That's the way it goes sometimes. It's that simple.
