If you lighten up Gary, things always go better.
I remember having a disastrous hole and my playing partner that day had the honors on the next hole. I was not happy and he was attempting to console me. He teed up, toed the ball and I heard it hit a tree to my right, heard another thumb to the left and then his ball came rolling right back toward us. I traveled an almost perfect triangle and I laughed so damn hard, I almost wet my pants. I played par ball for the rest of the round.
My partner that day, my parish priest.

I'm sure you're right, but there's a big gap between knowing something's right and actually doing it.

And I don't see myself playing a round of golf with a priest-unless he's a big fan of Lipstick Lesbians, drug and alcohol abuse stories, and jokes about Irish guys not being "gifted" in a certain way.

You hope so, but we've given away all or parts of big leads as well.

Against SBU, we had a 23-pt. lead with 5+ to go, and with the starters still in, SBU cut 10 pts. off the lead in 3 minutes.

Against GW, we had an 11-pt. lead w/11 minutes to go, and it was down to 1 w/1:48 left.

Against UMass, we had a 17-pt. lead with 15 minutes to go, and it was down to 5 pts. with 2 minutes left.

Against SLU, we had a 16-pt. lead with under 2 minutes to go in the 1st half, and a 10-pt. lead with 10 minutes to go in the game, before it was tied with 11 seconds to go.

Against SJU, we had a 14-pt. lead w/2+ to go in the first half, and then we were down 7 w/9 minutes to go in the 2nd half.

So, yes, X has won these games, and has played well enough to build up substantial leads, but then we go into a basketball coma and throw the hard-earned lead away.

This living on the edge usually costs you at some point. I'm hoping that's not true with X.
Gary, Do you think Georgetown is a pretty good team this year? If you watched any of that game last night against Nova you would probably pull your hair out(if we had any) if you were a GT fan. they went over 8 minutes without a field goal. They were lucky that they were playing Nova.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I realize that every team, no matter how good, has at least one game where they have a big lead and then just stop dead. My concern is that X seems to be doing this a lot.

or maybe we are more sensitive because we watch them every game. I am sure that one game by GT was not the only game because even my feeble mind remembers the WVa game, as an example.
