Suggestion for the rest of the year that no posters use the following words during posts:
1. The Committee. As in The Committee blah, blah, blah, blau, ad infinitum. Sounds like the Godfather or a bad dream for horse designers who wind up with camels.
2. Swagger. This is what UC has done in the past. Not so much now and they are becoming a much more likeable team for it. How about confidence born of focus........not cocky.
3. Whining about mid-major talk. Who really cares if some rube from Nebraska or some slick from NY makes the reference to our Beloved Musketeers? We know the truth. (see #2 above!)
Any others?
No mas for these words......

Re: No mas for these words......
I will try, Wampus, but it's tough because we all know that The Committee considers the perceived Swagger of Mid-Major teams in dolling out invites and seedings.Wampus wrote:Suggestion for the rest of the year that no posters use the following words during posts:

I know this has been posted many times already, but recruiting top players is made that much more difficult if the recruit has a perception, via the media, that Xavier is a "mid-major". That's why Bobinski returned the "mid-major player of the week award".

Re: No mas for these words......
I'm a word maven and slang overuse eagle-eye, and ran a similar though much longer list last year. Cf. no mas.
I don't get why "The Committee" be buggin ya. Like it or not, we all obsess about whether X gets in the NCAA tournament, and what our seed will be. We all look at and comment on the RPI, the Sagarin, the last 10, the SOS. Why? Because it matters to...drum roll....The Committee. The Division 1 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Selection Committee.
Are you critiquing the use of the term TheCommittee, as opposed to some other less onerous term? Or do you want talk about the work of that group to be left until much later in the season?
