DEFENSE

Postby muskieman » Fri Aug 14, 2026 5:41 pm

We all know that the biggest problems X had last year were defense when we needed it most and, most importantly, rebounds.

We know Richard likes man-to-man with some sort of zone when nothing was working, so let's take a look at various defensive sets and who might be in the lineup for those sets.

We know the lead guy, Tru Washington, but who do you pair with him, and where does he play in zone? 2-3, 1-2-2, or 1-3-1, or maybe Buzz, Amoeba, or swarm. Maybe Presses, traps, and a special new defense with all the depth X has so we run them in like a hockey line change

Give me your thoughts on your favorite defense. If enough people contribute, then I will give you my take. and have a discussion
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I don’t care what defense or defenses he plays as long as it works.

If Dominquez, Milicevic and Westry start it's hard to believe we will be any good on defense no matter what we play. looks like we will try to out score people again. Washington is a good defender and hopefully Nwoko is too. Hopefully House, Aligbe and Chitkoudis get some time to show what they can do

Who says Westry can't play defense? Jovan will have to step it up defensively. He is not the most athletic, but he was lazy and foul prone last year. He can change that.

I thought I read that ( poor defense ) somewhere but I can't find it. I know he was highly rated out of High School but had two or three knee surgery's. I think he barely played his first three years (115 min ). I have never seen him play and hope I am wrong. I'm pretty sure I read about his defense on 247 but can't find the article. He has excellent size and a lot of talent so I hope he will be a major factor for us this year
