Sean made the local radio rounds 10/11/23

here are some of the talking points for the Moe Egger and Lance shows yesterday. I think I got most of the interviews

Sean thinks X will be better on D this year and will be the deepest team he has coached capable of going 9-10 deep

Zach and Jerome will not be playing this year but might get on the court next year Jury is still out is that would be at X or somewhere else Good luck to both

Says Des has made the biggest jump as a player he has ever coached "an abundance of talent, he is bigger and stronger physically, a smarter and well-seasoned player"

*Xavier will play the underdog at times this year. Sean thinks the Big East will be the best it's been since the new Big East era.

*On Dayvion McKnight: Sean said, "I really love coaching Dayvion, and I think if you're a Xavier fan, you're going to enjoy watching him play because he is the quintessential two-way player." "Offensively, he plays with great pace. More of a distributor and a playmaker and a guy at the basket and inside the arc than a guy like Souley Boum, who lived behind the 3-point line and could beat you with that."

*There are times when Trey Green will be on the court along with Dayvion McKnight. "Trey Green is more similar to Souley Boum in that he's a prolific 3-point shooter, smaller, will have to learn

X will play 2 closed scrimmages against D1 teams (I think one is ND and the other is Kent State) instead of the normal exhibition games in the past. This should help the team to make better adjustments and progress ahead of the season opener. It will have to be the tuneup for the team because X plays Purdue in the 3rd game this year no 4 games of weak teams that people have complained about in the past

Sean did say this team might be like some of his Arizona teams that turned over the ball a lot. We saw some of that in the Bahamas

The coaches really believe in Dayvion McKnight and Quincy Olivari - Sean said: "If you've watched us practice, they really stand out."

Don't forget that Friday will be X's version of MM
Sean said: *Friday is really fun for Xavier's players - "It's the first time that they've played in front of our home crowd in the Cintas Center." - Pointed out that will really matter this year with 10 new players.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
