UC is definitely struggling. But they have a first year coach with players brought in by the former coach. X has a 4th year coach with his own recruits which are supposed to be strong recruits, though most don’t see many minutes or develop their potential. I’d trade coaches with UC even before keeping the current coach. Feel bad for him but he doesn’t have it for this level. Just what it is.

i'm not sure i'm doing ANY comparing to how we fare vs. our neighbors over in Clifton. they've been a doormat to us for almost 20 years. just being "better than them" is not gonna make me feel any better right now.

typical answer from someone that thinks all bench players are better than the starters and that the other team's coach is always better than his coach. Bet you thought Brannen was the UC savior because of his success at NKU.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Have no idea what you’re referring to. I made no mention of players on the bench or starters. Yes I think most BE coaches are better than ours. As for UC, I simply pointed out that though both UC and X are struggling, the difference is Steele is struggling in his 4th year at the helm and with his own players, while UC’s coach is in his first season at the school without his own recruits. That was in response to another’s post about UC. I didn’t say their coach was better than Steele, only time will tell how he will do in his 4th year. You sir are less realistic than most on this board about our coaches abilities. As for players, they are supposedly great recruits, but they haven’t performed as such. Is it their true abilities or is it the group coaching them? I have no answer for that.

Agree with Oldhoopster. Remember when MM and others said just wait til Steele had "his own" players? How is that lookin? Not so good unless you like tweener guards/forwards that can't shoot.

MM,

Direct question. Do you think Travis Steele is a good coach? Do you think the program is spiraling into the abyss under his leadership? Do you think he uses the words "man" and "right" in his interviews?

I completely disagree with the comment about player and coach attire. I promote individuality but you better live up to it. I can agree with earning it first but for some that could be added inspiration to play at a high level. there of course would need to be some rules around expression but unity is not needed. Unity as a team is different. Clothing has nothing to do with anything. I might be more fired up about that comment than the losing.

Dress code is not creating losses. Ignorance is creating losses. This coaching staff is completely clueless. Correction, the decision makers of this staff is clueless, I do not know that everyone agrees with the decisions being made and do not want to potentially stunt anyone's career because of who they report to.

As a side note, I don't think a single player should wear clothing with the insignia of a clothing manufacturer without direct compensation. If not paid to advertise a clothing brand, why wear it? Remove the insignia and no payment required. This becomes complicated for a school if being compensated to use the brand so the school needs to sell that as part of recruiting or come to agreements with players. I generally do not wear clothing with insignias because I do not currently have contracts with any brands. Personal choice.
