They are going to need to do something creative with March Madness. It is going to be impossible to pick and seed teams if the cancellations continue to the point where games can't be rescheduled.
*Minimal non-conference resumes
*Large discrepancy in the number of games played from team to team
*Starts and stops and long breaks for teams while others are not impacted
What are the options?
Invite everyone?
Play conference tournies and just send the winner?
Give it Gonzaga already?

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Re: Postponed Games
If the season is extended or paused, and the tourney isn’t played until May, is that really a problem? The only thing it would be competing against is MLB, and those are early season games that are usually poorly attended anyway. College baseball, track, soccer, etc. are all outside sports that don’t need the arenas, so no conflict for facility usage there.

Re: Postponed Games
Georgetown game this coming Tuesday is now postponed. COVID issues in the Hoyas program.
glad we already got 12 games in. let's beat Butler and Depaul and we should be ok. That would 12-2. after that, it's gravy.
oh, well.
i miss Xavier Basketball, btw.

If the fans are frustrated, and they are, just think how a player thinks? Last night Nova barely beat SH and showed rust and then fatigue toward the end of the gamelongliveskip wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 11:22 amGeorgetown game this coming Tuesday is now postponed. COVID issues in the Hoyas program.

Re: Postponed Games
that and i worry about the added risk of injury when you come back to play games and have only had one or two days of practice. not sure when X allowed to practice again but the G'town game being postponed may actually benefit them (although i think with only 2-3 days of practice we can easily beat G'town) by giving them more practice days to get into game shape leading up to Butler and DePaul. End of season will get interesting with reschedules, and you start playing 3 games in a week to try and get them all in.muskieman wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 12:46 pmIf the fans are frustrated, and they are, just think how a player thinks? Re: Postponed Games
I rarely agree with Rick Pitino, but his call for postponing the season to Feb. or March was spot on. Ncaa will not cancel the tourney and lose another needed payday. They probably should consider a one out elimination tourney for all D1 teams and make it fun. Maybe by the time it's over(late Spring?) the sun will be shining on normal life which is a bigger concern. At some point, the professional caliber kids are going to opt out in mass and just say we'll prepare for the draft. Not worth the quarantine hassle.

Butler vs UConn tonite is postponed due to Covid issues in Butler program. most likely means Xavier won't play Butler on the 29th. ugh.

Re: Postponed Games
They need to get creative with the scheduling. Why not have Xavier and UCONN play next week since UCONN is scheduled to play Butler
