The New Orleans Pelicans sign Naji Marshall to a two-way contract.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Re: Naji Lands
actually, it was reported he would sign but now he has signed. One was a rumor, one is a fact. If you want to complain about it then look for some to come your way because I have restrained my urge to call you out.

Re: Naji Lands
I thought he was a very likely 2nd round draft pick and don't understand why he would have opted for a 2 way deal before that round was over.

Most said he was not going to get drafted and signing with a time is often better than getting drafted later in second. Marshall has many NBA tools, however shooting and decision making could hold him back. Pelicans have some good young talent.

Re: Naji Lands
If he showed a higher bball IQ, he would have ended up being a top 40 pick. He has a nice stroke from the corner and top of the key and a nice pull up. He is an excellent defender, finishes well through contact, and also rebounds well. He dribbles too high and too often in traffic, which makes him turnover prone, but the NBA, especially with an up tempo offense team suits his skill set well. If only you could stick Holloway's bb brain into his head. He has a chance to have a decent NBA career.

Re: Naji Lands
If Naji works on his efficiency he will do well in the NBA. Shoot less, force the action less. Focus on playing defense, rebounding and taking opportunities when they come to you. Basically he and D Brown should switch personalities. Brown, if aggressive offensively would have been a very good NBA player. Naji is way too confident and aggressive offensively and it hurts the team.

100% agree on all of this! Naji will have to be content with not being the go to guy, and go back to being a dirty work kind of team player. He did it as a frosh at Xavier, hopefully he can do it again in the NBA. One obstacle is there are now so many guys that play his type of role, he will be up against a lot of competition for one of those spots.
