those we lost
Mack/pegues/Murray/Mercurio/Jennings all gone. New Coach will have to start over. I had hoped that at least Mercrio (The wizard of the schedule)would stay
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Growe and Steele are gone if they don't hire Steele as head coach. Now you know why Steele took his name out of some head coaching jobs.

Totally makes sense now, Ed. Not many mentioning Kelsey. Maybe still a cloud over how the UMass job went down.

I am not sold on a Kelsey Head coach. Exuberance only gets you so far...ask Anti Homer!MOSQUETERO wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 5:18 pmTotally makes sense now, Ed. Not many mentioning Kelsey. Maybe still a cloud over how the UMass job went down.

Gone....For now. If Steele gets the HC job, I'd offer either Murray or Pegues, whoever doesn't get the Assoc. HC job at L-Ville, that title at X, and promote Mario to an assistant. Christopher better get aggressive, and cant make this a month-long search. I agree a nat'l search is warranted, but everyone at X knew this was coming for months, should he should have a short list in place already.

I'm with my mentor. I'm not totally opposed, but I've heard things which give me pause. Also, I don't know what he offers over Steele. It's great he has HC experience at a low level D1 school, but the restlessnesses with the current players and recruits has to be given strong consideration. Christopher supposedly has and will be consulting with the veteran players (I have to assume Scruggs and Marshall also) throughout the process.muskieman wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 5:21 pmI am not sold on a Kelsey Head coach. Sounds like Christopher had an offer on table to Mack for a while. Mack kind of dragged this out. I don't believe he made recruiting much of an effort-certainly not like what he is doing with L-ville. Really looks like Mack screwed x here

It's starting to look like he was playing both sides of the fence. I'm beginning to think the guys who knew him in college who said he was a D-Bag may have been right.

Re: those we lost
Mack had already offered about a dozen 2019 recruits, according to the Louisville site. Most of them had been offered by X, so Mack is stabbing Xavier in the back in multiple ways. Nice....
Xavier always goes to the NCAA tournament, and almost always makes some noise while there. Projecting anything less than that this season feels like folly--Eamonn Brennan (ESPN Summer Shootaround, 2012)
