The game last night hurt more than any other tourney loss. Probably because this was the first time I believed X could win the tourney. That's because X had their best season ever. I can't imagine what the players must be feeling.
While we didn't get the story book ending we wanted, we still got to see the greatest season (not tournament) in the history of Xavier basketball. It wouldn't have happened without this amazing senior class. I just wanted to say thank you to all of them for this historic season.
Tre - Thank you for four years of playing your heart out at X. Thank you for coming back for one more year when going pro would have been the easy choice. I love that you always have a big smile when on the court. You have represented the Muskies well over the last four years. Best of luck in the league.
JP - You gave it your all every play. We haven't seen that much intensity from a X player since Stanley Burrell. You are going to be missed next year. Best wishes in your pro career, it's been fun watching you play!
Big Sean - There might never have been a better teammate in the history of X. Last you you gave up your staring role for T Jones, this year you gave up minutes to Kanter, and you always played your heart out and always looked happy for your teammates success. They called you guys the three headed monster, they should have called you the three musketeers (All for one and one for all). When ever your playing career is over, I hope you look into coaching! would love to see you on the xavier sideline in the future.
Kanter - My only complaint is that we only got to see you for one year. This team would not have been the same without you. Thank you for choosing X and I hope you have a great pro career
We have a good core returning, but we will miss you next year.
Thank you seniors!

Re: Thank you seniors!
Well said. I always miss Seniors and this group gave us many wonderful memories. I hope to see Tre and JPs jerseys in the rafters some day as both created a wonderful for years. While we are sad that this trip could not continue our memories and hearts will be forever blessed to have known you guys.pki1998 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 19, 2018 12:17 pmThe game last night hurt more than any other tourney loss. I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Sad to think we won't see those guys in Xavier uniforms anymore. They came in highly touted and i think they backed it up. Great careers. Look forward to JP and Tre getting into the Xavier HOF.

Also a shout out to Sean O'Mara, who could have transferred to dozens of other schools and gotten 25 minutes a game. He improved his skill set every year and became the best post scorers since David West. He also was a great teammate, and eloquent rep. of X and their values. Hopefully, he makes a lot of money overseas. Ditto for KK, though he will get a shot at the NBA. The coach at Wisc GB has to be catching heat for not playing him major minutes during his tenure.

Thanks seniors for a great 4 years. Keep your head high JP you were awesome in the NCAA tournament. Great career for Trevon 2nd on X's all time scoring list will be missed. A few calls either way and a bounce here or there and you guys were in the sweet 16 with a great chance at making the final 4. I hope someday Xavier will get a player with Macura's hustle leadership and toughness the way he showed on this team in the tournament. Wish him the best on his pro career.

Agree on Big Sean - He improved his FT shooting % from 47% as a freshman to 80% as a senior.Anti-Homer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 19, 2018 8:10 pmAlso a shout out to Sean O'Mara, who could have transferred to dozens of other schools and gotten 25 minutes a game. His rebounding average per game improved each year as did his assists.
Strong post moves and developed into a pretty decent passer out the post.
He averaged just under 60% from the field for his career.
And made the game winning bucket to advance X to it's 3rd E8 appearance.
A true team guy.
X struck for the 2nd year in a row with a 5th grad transfer in Kanter.
Last year, it was Malcolm Bernard.
Without either, X doesn't nearly accomplish what they did.
