Despite what anyone may think the highlight of my day wasn’t doing shots of bourbon with mumuskie87 on the way back from Chicago.

MOSQUETERO - it was a fun trip but your Blue Demon/Lucifer mask WAS the icing on the cake my friend - after the W and BE out right championship.MOSQUETERO wrote: ↑Sun Mar 04, 2018 8:51 amhttp://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/co ... story.html

It was great to connect again.
You are correct - we met at the St Bonaventure game at Cintas in March 2010. Senior day for X - Jason "Butterbean" Love was a senior.
I save my old ticket stubs and saw that yesterday I looked my organizer - That's the Ticket.
And hey every W is better with some bourbon....and sometimes the losses aren't as bad either with some bourbon.

That was a great time mumuskie87. It was great seeing you after 8 years. The trip to DePaul should be a yearly event insofar as it's on a w/e. Would've been great to run into Chitown Steve. Mr. Neutral would've loved it as well.mumuskie87 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 05, 2018 5:04 pmMOSQUETERO - it was a fun trip but your Blue Demon/Lucifer mask WAS the icing on the cake my friend - after the W and BE out right championship.MOSQUETERO wrote: ↑Sun Mar 04, 2018 8:51 amhttp://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/co ... story.html

Thanks! Similarly wondered which other Musketeer Madness posters might be in attendance and could be walking past.MOSQUETERO wrote: ↑Tue Mar 06, 2018 5:30 pmThat was a great time mumuskie87. Coincidentally, several years ago flukily met Mr. Neutral at a pre-game DePaul Champions Club gathering (though X was not the opponent that day). It certainly would have been nice to have him planning an informal gathering of us at the Wintrust Arena.
Next year we should do something of that sort.

Re: CHICAGO TRIBUNE GAME RECAP
ChiTown Steve - I meant to PM you last week but the week got away from me.
Agree in that it would be nice to do that next year, especially if it is a weekend game.
I know Coach Mack gave his compliments on the Wintrust Arena and I wanted to echo that.
What a great venue for a basketball game.
Very similar in capacity to Cintas with what seemed to be more seats in the lower bowl.
And even the Demon Dogs were pretty darn tasty.
Now if DePaul could just somehow improve their men's basketball program, that would be a big plus for the BE PR.
They are on track to lose 20 games for the 6th straight year and 9 out of the last 11 years. The other 2 years they lost 19 games.
As X fans we complain when "our" team loses or even when they win.
But how fortunate are we as fans to root for an extremely successful program that has had sustained success for over 30 years.
Lastly, I too had a chance to meet Gary aka Mr Neutral at a couple of X games.
It was a pleasure and a honor.
Hope he is looking down and enjoying this season and maybe pull a few strings for the ball to bounce our way when needed.

Re: CHICAGO TRIBUNE GAME RECAP
Pleased that you enjoyed the venue, which is an upgrade over the Allstate Arena. Some issues with the Wintrust Arena, but not the forum to cite, and overall a nice place for a Big East game. When in Chicago, ordering a hot dog is almost required.mumuskie87 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 07, 2018 10:47 amChiTown Steve - I meant to PM you last week but the week got away from me.

Insofar as the Blue Demons ... there does finally seem to be some pressure building on AD Jean Lenti-Ponsetto. She is a wonderful person and lesser sports command appropriate attention and are doing well. However, her Men's Basketball Coaching hires (Jerry Wainwright, Oliver Purnell and Dave Leitao) have been uninspiring. Your recitation of the recent failures says it all.
Go X!
