Just read that too.

I’m not sure if that actually breaks any LAW, but it sure breaks some RULES.

Have to imagine that Arizona won’t be a part of the tourney this year, and maybe not for a few years.
Serious question: If it isn't a criminal case, why would the FBI be conducting the investigation?
The wire tapping was not of Miller’s phone, it was of Dawkins. What Dawkins was doing would appear to be illegal. I’m not sure one way or the other if paying a player directly to come to a school IS illegal, or just against NCAA rules? It’s a question, not a statement. Miller did not appear according to what has been reported SO FAR to be paying the player to sign with a certain agent, or to be promising anything in return to the agent for his help in signing him, but as of yet we don’t know all of the particulars of the MANY phone calls between Miller and the AGENT. That’s why I said that I’m “not sure” if he has broken any LAWS.

At least we haven't heard of point shaving scandals - yet. I would think the FBI has better things to do like tracking potential serial kilers or terrorists. How about even tracking the NCAA for HUGE payments they may have received from large schools to keep their mouth shut.

I read an ESPN article which states that S Miller's contract with Arizona through 2022 is written such that even if he is terminated for cause he still receives 85% of his contract or over $10 million from the school. This is highly unusual to pay someone when fired for cause.

The high and mighty NCAA is just as much to blame as anyone in this current pay for play scandal. The NCAA allowed the AAU, their club sports programs, the leeches that are behind them (Richardson for one) to gain way too much power over "amateur" athletes. It's an absolute disgrace what they have done to High School Basketabll in this country. High School coaches and teams have become almost meaningless relagated to baby sitting the players during the winter months until the summer time when they run to the BS "Club" teams where money and shoes are all that matter. The goose that laid the Golden Egg is about to be our Sunday dinner. Oh, Thanks Sean. You left Xavier because you stated that you did not feel you could win a National Championship here. That's right. We don't have the kind of dough that Arizona has to bribe players to play at that school. I don't mean any harm to come to him, just very disappointing.

Paying a player or their rep. to come to a school is illegal. I won't get into all the legal issues, but ultimately wire fraud, etc. comes into play.

Read that as well. Would receive 85% of the his contract thru May 2022.
Per the ESPN article, that equates to roughly $10 million.
The article also notes that he would get a bigger % of his contract if he was fired with cause vs. without cause.
Finally, there is also mentioned that U of A's obligation to pay is not waived if it is a NCAA violation. However, no mention of what the university's recourse is if it is a criminal charge.
Regardless, it would seem that Sean's days as a college basketball may be numbered.
Pretty sad.

Rather pathetic how some are so quick to throw Sean Miller under the bus merely on dubious leak reported by a disreputable source without a scintilla of proof.

Book Richardson > Scintilla.
You sound very much like a relative of Sean Miller, and a delusional one at that.
