Re: Is this a reason for concern?
10am ESPN First Take started the tv show with this article and the programs involved and lots more. ...what was said....financial monies come from alumni, fans, former players of school in NBA to incoming players, financial managers, and more....this is 4,000 tapped calls in less than one year by the FBI., they start grooming $$$these players in high school and before, no one cares any more because most people believe this has happened for years, one player was offered hundreds of thousands of $$$ but choose another school(they said you dont think he got more elsewhere???), everyone is nervous from the NBA to the NCAA to schools etc...everyone is scared, this will harm college basketball......what the heck most only care about March Madness and the season is becoming insignificant ........all and more was covered

Xavier specifically mentioned
"Other teams with current or former players who allegedly received payments were South Carolina, Louisville, Utah, Xavier, Wichita State, Clemson and Alabama"

Re: Is this a reason for concern?
It's going to be a real test of schools resolve to remain true to ethics. Obviously, all these coaches who cannot be tied back to a specific piece of evidence are going to deny any knowledge of it, ie the Pitino method. However, if you take money from shoe companies, et. al in your program and they fund payments to players who is kidding who. There is a reason it was done this way to as to make the coaches look removed from it. Question is how much evidence do they have. My guess is there will be a lot of off season movement this year. lol

Anytime you see a player mentioned in the same breath with an agent and money,it's a little worrisome. But everything I've read so far says Xavier has nothing to worry about.Mack has been all over this issue since it started. We'll see.Hardly any surprise when you see the names and schools involved.

A tv analyst , i will not name, just said the NCAA is basically saying how dare anyone else exploit our athletics , before we are done exploiting these athletes. The same analyst also said that buying or paying athletes in college sports has been going on for years and years , this is nothing new. Yes, we all knew this.

like steroids in baseball, but the NCAA needed the FBI to actually do something about it.Xavier2005 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 12:19 pmA tv analyst , i will not name, just said the NCAA is basically saying how dare anyone else exploit our athletics , before we are done exploiting these athletes.
