Who woulda thunk 30 ...20 ... 10 ... years ago .... the Musketeers, #4 in the AP Poll, with a late February, Wednesday night nationally televised 12 point win over Georgetown... Georgetown ... coached by Patrick Ewing?
No more hunting on the internet for some two bit, one camera angle of a game being played at Rose Hill Gym or the like. Now, nationally recognized as a quality, leading Big East program.
Sure, Coach Mack and the Team still have some significant hurdles. Nonetheless, I distinctly recall the dour mood, back when my two children were on campus, because an excellent coach left. Certain that such thoughts were common when some other fine coaches left X because it was a "mid-major."
Today, X possesses one of the best home court college basketball facilities and advantages. The Program's accomplishments, year after year, have earned the University recognition and are now consistently included as part of the "national basketball conversation." Let's savor this time ... while rooting on Coach Mack, his staff and ballplayers to continued success.
Go Muskies!

Closing in on another record 108 wins by Jason Love. Let's hope they can get there!

Head and shoulders the best athlete on the team. Was there watching him in warmups and he does some insane things with his body.X-Expert wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 9:15 pmPerfect comparison and agree Naji better shooter and just a frosh. Would love to see he, Scruggs, and Q spend the summer shooting 100 3s a day (ala Lenny Brown) and improve their shooting. They will be a much better defensive team next year. For all Gates' issues lately, he has been a decent defender

2 Regular season games, a max of 3 Big East tourney games, and a maximum 6 NCAA tourney games.
Winning out, 2-1 in the Big East, and an Elite 8 berth would tie. Winning the Big East tourney and making it to the Elite 8 would be the record.
Tall order, but there is no way we do not get a 1 seed if we win out and win the Big East tourney.
Let's March!

that would put them at 107 per your calculations.. EE berth is only only winning 3 games.tacitus wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2018 11:22 am2 Regular season games, a max of 3 Big East tourney games, and a maximum 6 NCAA tourney games.

Win out, and make the final 4 would be the record.

Nice bounce-back win. I don't care if it was ugly, pretty, or somewhere in-between, would have been ominous to have lost it after the Nova debacle. Now C-Mack gets a few extra days of practice to refine the team heading into the stretch run. Hopefully KG is in the gym as I type rediscovering his shot. Come back Gates, come back.......

Re: Georgetown Game thread 02/21/2018
Actually, I’m betting that he gave the team some extra time off....probably today and tomorrow.
Thursday....film session
Friday......off
Saturday.....off
Sunday....practice in the afternoon
Monday,,,,practice
Tuesday.....practice
Wednesday.....game
At this point in the season practice is more about game planning than it is about conditioning and going full go. Players AND coaches are tired, physically and mentally. A short break is very welcome. The players that live fairly close may use it as an opportunity to go home and have a home cooked meal and sleep in their own bed for a night or two. Be careful guys and stay out of trouble! The coaches will no doubt be out on the road recruiting, that never stops. Players that need some extra medical or therapy treatment will have the time to get it done. A short break this time of year is a God send!
