I think X should have been a #2 because of the win losses of the last week. They are quicker to drop us then to raise us and it proves it with the two polls. I also don't care in the long run as long as X can get a #1 seed in the mid-west and hang a banner as the NC in the end.

i thought #2 at first as well, but then i came to this conclusion - i don't think we deserved to be ranked ahead of Nova. they crushed us and lost to SJU without 2 starters. and since SJU had just beaten Duke, it doesn't look like such a bad loss anymore. that being said, when you lose at home to an unranked team and move UP???? that baffles me. i thought it should've went MSU, Nova, X, UVA.

maybe we should lose to SHU on wednesday in OT so we can move up in the polls.

I’ve been following so long would be satisfied with a final 4. Since we have never been there before.

Not true. I looked it up. X won the 1958 NITs, which was the de facto NCAA tourney before the latter started in 1960. There were 12 teams selected, 4 who received a bye (not X), so they had to win 4 games including a FF. This year will be the 1st in the modern era.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, but the NCAA started in 1939. In 1958 Kentucky won under Adolph Rupp.

You're right. My mistake. Technically, my post was correct though, as X did compete in a FF, but unfortunately, it was in the Not Important Tourney.
Ancient times anyway, as X's tourney resume in the last 15 years is better than 95% of D-1 schools.
