Mick can complain all he wants but if you look UC's KenPom rankings - they are 22 and they were the 22nd seed in the tournament. Right where they should be
X was the last bye - 41st seed overall and their KenPom rank is 40.

Maryland's KenPom ranking is 45 but was seeded 23rd.
X got a good draw, IMO

Tough matchup since we do not guard the perimeter well and we saw what happened when we played CU. good to be in tourney

I'm not an expert on MD, and just saw them play 5 or so partial games (for monetary reasons), and their record speaks for itself. X did beat two teams who shoot comparably from 3 point land, and are better overall, in Butler and Creighton, but also got trounced by MQ. MD doesn't shoot the 3 ball as well as MQ however. I like our chances.

Their pg Trimble is very good, but he and the other MD guard are small. X has to exploit this, by posting whomever their 6'0 guard has to mark (JP or MB most likely), and prevent their dribble penetration on the other end.

Glad to be wrong that the Rhoddy win pushed us to the last 4. I like the match-ups and potential of a S16 run. Great work getting that Butler win to get us in and showing the resilience needed to make the field! GO X!!!

Mumuskie, from Selection Sunday forward it is Super Bowl Sunday x 1,000,000 for me. There is no comparison. Has anyone seen the captain?

For what it is worth, ESPN listed the 10 coldest teams headed into the Tournament which included Maryland and Florida St.

Maryland has lost four of their last 6, giving up 172 combined points in two home loses to Minnesota and Iowa. Trimble is in a shooting slump, 5 for last 29 threes.

Florida St is a 500 team since early February. Agree 100%, we got the best bracket for an 11. One game at a time though.

Key will be defense and minimize turnovers. Q played great in BE Tourney. Playing at this level in the Dance could get us at least one victory.
