Bubble Watch Criers lose to Davidson

Postby XU80 » Fri Mar 10, 2017 2:14 pm

Keep an eye on the A10, could be a spoiler if VCU doesn't win A10 Tourney now that Dayton is out.

Could this scenario or others take a 7th bid from the Big East.

Feel sorry for the Criers - NOT! Rhode Island is hanging out there too in the A-10. Lunardi said this Dayton loss to Davidson might put them on the "watch" list. Be a shame if they didn't get in. Heh heh heh!

Dayton has the worst fans in the country. Could not happen to a better bunch. My only fear is this could impact Xavier if VCU does not win the A-10. If, say, Davidson wins, it will mean one less at-large. That could be Xavier, which is right now in the Dayton 11 vs 11 play-in game. Let's root for VCU. And laugh at Dayton's Cryers!

there was always a part of me that thought the a10 tourney was rigged. How many years did X dominate that conference, but not win the tourney. I think they do that to make sure they get more bids..

Lunardi's bracket as of today - March 10 - has X as an 11 seed - one of the last 4 with a bye, meaning no play in game (or 1st Four) - playing Iowa St in SLC. In fact, 3 BE teams are in that group of last 4 in with a bye - Marquette, PC and X.

UD is in even with the loss today - they were an 8 seed at the beginning of the day
VCU is in - a 9 seed.
If another A10 wins the conference tournament, it would knock one of the last 4 in - the two 12 seeds which at the moment are USC and Wake Forest and both are done in their respective tournaments.

Another web site - Team Rankings - has X at 95% likely to get an at-large bid.

Said it last night, X got their ticket punched beating Butler.
