Big 5 get 28 of 68

Postby Xavier2005 » Tue Feb 21, 2017 10:41 am

The current NCAA projected Brackets has the Big 5 Conferences getting 28 teams in ....out of 68 teams. That is approximately 40% of the field. Xavier should be happy to be in the Big East. The 351 total teams as a whole must be really really bad or just get no respect outside the Big 5. The BE has 10 teams and so far 7 are projected to be in the Dance...wow!

I'm not sure it has much to do with the conference composition themselves. Ultimately anyone can schedule well(put together a top 100) and if you can put together the team talent wise you will likely get in. Bball a lot different than fball. Truth is there are a lot of bad teams.

Who's projection is this? No way BE gets 7 teams.I think they'll be lucky to get 5.

I think he's considering every team in the bubble watch gets in which is highly unlikely. One of the teams is gtown who is 14 and 13.

ESPN Brackets as of Feb 20th has 30 of the 68 within the Big 5 Conferences..but has the BE with 6 BE teams and Providence as a first 8 out team. The other bracket i quoted has Providence as a play in team at Dayton, thus 7 BE teams. Providence is the bubble team for 7.

Yes, but Marquette and Seton Hall are last four in and hanging by a thread as well. I think all or some of them are also sub 60 rpi which is very iffy. Some of these teams are definitely going to eliminate each other. I'm not sure i can see anyone but Nova and Butler getting past the first weekend.

We are fighting Marquette for fourth place. Q has Johnnies tonight, then@ PC, @ X and Creighton. Tough road
They are 7-7 now. It seems one more win will get us in it.

Q is now 8-7. If we do not prevail tomorrow, we are tied which makes next Wednesday huge. MARQUETTE playing well.

I would like to see some kind of equitable cap on the numbers from each conference. It would make the regular season more revelant.
