the interesting thing about the shootout...sometimes the team that you think is better loses. As Shannon Russell put it "UC has a better record; XU has a tougher league slate."
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Agree that X has a tougher (much tougher) league slate-problem is they haven't beaten any of the top teams

Man for man, x has more talent, but as everyone knows, that often doesn't determine the winner. X has the better frontcourt, UC the better backcourt.

UC has more depth, particularly since their freshmen don't just spell key players, but actually contribute positive minutes. X has the best player on the court in Sumner, though UC has the 2nd best one in Evans (who arguably is the better player).

UC is at home, and will be a 4 point favorite, but my homerism predicts a win by the Muskies. They've only covered about 10% of the games this year with Vegas, so law of averages, and a good game by Gates will pull this out for the Xmen.

You really believe a frontcourt of Gaston and O'mara is better than Washington and Clark and their backups(Scott and Brooks)? I'd make that trade in a heartbeat.

He has to have mixed up frontcourt and backcourt. Blueitt, Sumner, Macura are more talented than Caupain, Johnson and Evans, while Washington and Clark have an advantage over Gaston and O'mara.

Cumberland is a big upgrade as well over Goodin and is a tough matchup. Bluiett guarding anyone particularly Clark is an andvantage to opponent. Sources tell me Vanila Ice will have his boys ready

You would think so, but it is interesting thru 18 games for both teams those back court trio's combined Uc is shooting 35% from 3 and 44% overall from the field, while X trio is shooting 32% from 3 and 43% overall. Illustrative of our shooting woes given the perimeter reliance(30% more attempts), and lack of front court play to often. X gets about 46 game from the trio vs 35 for Uc in less minutes. Cumberland somewhat of a wild card there as he's had some bigger scoring games for a frosh. Production not much different.

Statistically, they are definitely better than X, but it has to do more with their renegade style of shooting contested 27 foot shots. If they actually ran a disciplined offense, and took mostly step in, reasonably distanced shots, their stats would look much better. UC does not take many bad shots. Tehy get pulled if they do.

Tre is the best pure shooter on either team. His auditioning for the NBA has clouded his judgement, and his shooting percentages are suffering because of it. I still think X wins. If they don't, Mman will spread fertilizer and aerate your yard this spring. If they do, Mman will do it to mine.

Tre, the best pure shooter on either team? I think you got a hold of some MM's hippie lettuce.
