Deja Vu
This team looks like the old Lyons/Tu team where they jus rely on Sumner/Bluett to go one and one. It was tough watching X run a weave against on top of key while Villanova's zone until time on shot clock was running out then see X take a 3 or rely on Sumner to beat 3 people. Or see X take a 6 point lead at half vs Butler only to see X take 3 3s to start the half until Butler took the lead and never relinquish. Today just another new way to lose. When X took a lead, it usually wasn't more than a possession and at least two times Creighton followed up on a rebound. Cant blame refs as X took ( and missed) more FTs then they took. After the Butler lost, this team reminded me of the old Dayton teams but after today no, Dayton won at home. This team is not a top 25 team-at least now. Creighton lost their best player and still dominated the entire game. Remember when X lost Sumer last year at Villanova, X lost by 40. Problem is that this offense relies almost solely on Sumner to break them down.

Re: Deja Vu
Actually X is a top 25 team per both polls. Every year it's the same thing in January whining and criticizing then as we get to March we perform and I believe this team will do the same. Sports message boards are the same everywhere it's actually humorous. If you have seen or read what our coach, the reining college coach of the year, has said after the Creighton game you might understand better the process. No one cares how a college team does in January it's is all about March Madness.

X won't be a top 25 team next week and they're far from playing like one currently. You seem to always put everyone else down on here for looking at the CURRENT team and its performance. This is not the Sweet Sixteen or Elite Eight teams of years ago. It could still turn things around but I'm not confident it will at this point. This team has very little chemistry and no real leadership. Additionally, Mack seems to have no idea how to correct the situation.

March worked out well for us last year, one and done as I recallmuncie6569 wrote:Actually X is a top 25 team per both polls. Re: Deja Vu
It wasn't one and done last March, but X didn't last past the first weekend. At the rate this team is going, that would be an accomplishment unto itself!brockman231 wrote:March worked out well for us last year, one and done as I recallmuncie6569 wrote:Actually X is a top 25 team per both polls. Re: Deja Vu
We won more than one game in the tourney last year? Or do we not have the same interpretation of one and done? I look at it as we won "one" then we were done. Actually being serious here.

Since you asked, no interpretation involved. "One and done" means a team played one game in the NCAA Tournament and lost that game.brockman231 wrote:We won more than one game in the tourney last year? I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
