Down 3 but X is only 3-14 from 3 today.
I think CU will 5 guys guarding Ed on this play.

another poor second half. Cant make FTs can't block out. They lose their best player and still dominate all game. I think Mack plays Euchre at halftime. This is not an NCAA team right now. They have ZERO quality wins. When X lost Sumner last year, X lost by 40. Bring on the weak Big East teams so we can get a win.

Re: Creighton Game thread 01/16/2017
No excuse on this one. Crieghton's best player was hurt and they missed a ton of open 3's. Turnovers and most importantly Free throws. We missed 13, if we would have made 5 of those 13 it's a different game at the end.
I still believe this team can compete with anyone, but we are running very low on chances to get signature wins. At this point we have 0. And if we suffer a bad loss st some point we may be in danger of being on the bubble

if tourney was today X would be on bubble. Zero quality wins. Lose on road to any team worth a darn. they are what they are, They are an above average team, You miss outside shots when you have no legs. X's offense is such that they want their two stars to be beat their man one on one so no wonder they have no legs to shoot. Sorry but Gaston is just not a BE player. if he catches the ball he has to turn with back to basket. if he is facing he has to move across the middle. Not his fault, he is what he is. Just not a good fit for X. Great recruiting class next year but if Sumner and Bluett leave, X has to find a way to run a real offense.

Yet they should have won today. They need to fix the little stuff. Yeah, CU lost their best guy but X handed them the game today.

Yes they had a brief lead for one possession but wouldn't say they should have won, If X pulled that out, they would have stolen that game. Other than maybe 5 minutes of the entire game. X was down. Yes missed FTs but think if Creighton loses, they would bitch that X went to the line way more than X. X missed more than Creighton took. One thing that might help this team's shooting is to run an offense which doesn't involve Sumner dribbling for 20 seconds of the shot clock to find a way to break them down, I know X is challenged inside but can still go inside outside for better looks. I keep thinking i'm watching Tu (Sumner) and Lyons (Bluett) each possession.XavierTragedy wrote:Yet they should have won today. They need to fix the little stuff.
