Road wins in the BE are very important.
Just ask Mick Cronin...he will tell you that because he used to coach in this league before he moved to a mid-major conference.

GT out scored X by 10 pts from 2 but X made 15 more FT's
Ed and JP by themselves almost made as many FT's as GT shot - 22 to 23.
Wow, Gtown's board must be lighting up the refs! I thought it was a very consistently called game myself.

As usual, I agree. Kudos to the coaching staff for picking up two transfers, who are playing critical roles for X this year.muskieman wrote:Bernard deserves a way to go as his 2 threes came at points when X needed them the most. His D was not too bad either.

Not that much difference in total fouls called - 23 for X and 28 for GT.Anti-Homer wrote:mumuskie87 wrote:3 pt scoring was even with 6 made 3's each.

But X shot 38 FT's and GT only shot 23.
I don't think X missed many, if any, front ends of a 1 and 1.

Re: Georgetown Game thread 12/31/2016
that's a big foul disparity considering we were the road team. If that situation happens to us at home, this board would be melting down......LOLmumuskie87 wrote:Not that much difference in total fouls called - 23 for X and 28 for GT.Anti-Homer wrote:mumuskie87 wrote:3 pt scoring was even with 6 made 3's each.

What "disparity?" Thought officials are supposed to call what is there...what they see. Should we stop the game to admonish the officials to "even up the calls," despite what is happening on the court?

Very happy with this one! We won on the road; Big East game; way too many fouls called which was a detriment to our game and a benedit to theirs; and we did it without Bluiett.

Re: Georgetown Game thread 12/31/2016
How many of those fouls that make up that "discrepancy" occurred in the last minute when GTown was intentionally fouling? Had to be at least 2-3. Looked to me in the replays that there were many times fouls could have been collected on both teams, but were not. I do remember that in the 2nd half, at the time that X went into the double bonus, Gtown was real close to doing the same, I think the difference in fouls at that time was 8 to 10. The difference was that many of the fouls on X players were when they were shooting, or after they had gone into the bonus, so they shot a lot of free throws.

Excellent point about the end of game fouls. Teams that are behind foul (intentionally, of course, which is infrequently, if ever, called), which skews the final foul "discrepancy." Then, the numbers are improperly compared.kyzrex wrote:How many of those fouls that make up that "discrepancy" occurred in the last minute when GTown was intentionally fouling? Great game by Ed but X is better when he doesn't have to score so much.muskieman wrote:Happy Birthday JP with 23 points. Ed has 28 May you have many more games like this one. Happy New Year X fans
