Providence University Game thread 12/28/2016

[skyhops]

Way to careless with the ball. Luckily, PU is not very good

X has shut down Bullock and Holt so far - 0 points combined.
They average 32 a game coming in.

[mumuskie87]

Dumb foul by SOM 30 feet from the basket - his 2nd.
Basketball Jones back in.

[mumuskie87]

X up 37-25 at the half.
Hate to see Cartwright get that drive at the end of the half.
X had done a good job of keeping him out of the lane in the 1H.

[mumuskie87]

Both PG's - Sumner and Cartwright - have 5 assists and 4 TO's.

[mumuskie87]

Both teams have 8 TO's.
X has 9 assists on 13 FG's - 70%. Well above their season avg.
PC has been a decent shooting 3 pt team - 73rd in the country - but only 1 for 6 in 1H.
X was 3-9 in 1H which is their average.

6 steals in 1H for X. Bernard had 2.
They avg just over 7 per game.

[mumuskie87]

That might have the best 4 minutes X has played this year.
Pushed lead from 12 to 22.
JP did a great job of drawing 2 fouls on Holt - his 3rd and 4th.
Not something that shows up on the stat sheet but just part of his overall value to the team.

[mumuskie87]

Tre is playing like a 1st team All BE player tonight.
20 pts and 7 pts

[mumuskie87]

Ed has made some nifty assists tonight - total of 7 so far.

[mumuskie87]

X has an outstanding job of making the extra pass tonight.
And it shows with their assist to FG ratio - 20 assists on 28 FG's - over 70%.
Season avg is 55%.
