Kenyon Martin
I know I know, but before you all rip me for mentioning a former uc player, or for making a crazy prediction comparing one of our freshman to a career NBA player, hear me out first. I cant help but think of a young Kenyon Martin when I watch our T. Jones play basketball. The kid can't hit a two foot bunny wide opened, but this young man has heart. He seems like he wants to be great, and every play, he is putting it all out there. If you all remember, Mr Kenyon martins early days, it was hysterical watching him shoot a basketball. His free thows were lucky to catch the rim, if even the backboard. However, He went all out every play, and judging by his attitude with every chance he got, you knew Kenyon wanted to be great. I optimistically see this with tyrique. He has the heart. He has the athleticism and I hope he has that same desire Kenyon had, because he could be the next great power forward to come out of this great university. I am extremely excited for his future. I predict by his junior year, he will have a national recognition around his name. With the great guards Mack continues to recruit and land, a great post player could be what takes us to that elusive final four we so strongly covet. I hope this young man strives to be great. Lets go muskies.

Re: Kenyon Martin
Decent comparison QueenCity. I do recall Martin's Frosh season, so raw and unpolished but had such a high motor. T Jones flashes many of those same traits, you just hope he has the passion to improve as Kenyon did. I can easily see him playing more minutes than Rashid come Feb...

Re: Kenyon Martin
IF he becomes as impact a player as KM, without the college career ending injury, then I am all for it.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Re: Kenyon Martin
I remember KM very well, saw him play on numerous occasions. But I don't remember him from his freshman year hardly at all, which tells me that he was hardly a factor at all. Of course this was back when UC was really rolling on the national scene and had a lot of very good players.....kind of like X now. I think that Jones may well have a bigger impact in his freshman year than KM did in his. Part of that is just a change in his freshman are needed and used today verses how they were used back then, part of that is a difference in rosters, coaches, teams. It will be very interesting to see just how much Jones improves and becomes a dominating inside presence over the next couple of years. He seems to have great help defense instincts. I hope he can develop his offensive game beyond what KM did, as KM was never a great offensive player on the college level.
