I was wondering why Trey was out so long so I finally checked the box score to discover he had 4 fouls. You would have thought the announcers might have picked up on that given he was the leading scorer?xumuskies89 wrote:i agree I don't remember them mentioning it....just terriblebluegrass wrote:Did the announcers ever say that Treyvon was in foul trouble? You would think that would have been a big deal. Those guys were horrible.

Only 18 points in the paint and we had 18 offensive rebounds .Our bigs just aren't strong enough around the rim. Tyrique will be good but just a freshman .xumuskies89 wrote:As a college basketball coach, I don't think Mack got out coached (although I hate how "blah" their 1-3-1 can be at times). When you turn the ball over 17 times and missed 12 free throws, that's on the players. Gates looked like a deer in headlights out there and X in general was bothered by Baylors length. Our bigs work hard but are not very offensively skilled and it shows, we are very talented but that's the biggest difference between last years team and this years. The team will learn from this and come back stronger!

Look at my following post. I agree it was just a bad day for X. But, there are things a coach can do to offset that. It's not all Coach Macks fault. Just a bad game for all I suppose.Shadow wrote:That's a load of crap. Since when does the coach shoot the ball, rebound or guard a man.X4LIFE wrote:Hate to say this because I love Coach Mack. But, in most of X losses it seems it is due to being out coached in the second half. Disappointing.
The shots that didn't go in and stupid turnovers decided this game

Announcers who offered little insight, missed advising us of key calls by officials, failed to comment upon personal foul situations ... yet, they talked a lot. Other than the silly observation about Wainwright flinging it long out of bounds and promoting Baylor to poll voters, what did they say?XU85 wrote:I was wondering why Trey was out so long so I finally checked the box score to discover he had 4 fouls. It's too bad that you can't watch the game & listen to the radio because of the synchronization.

One measures a team on how they play against the so called best teams. How they play in tough situations on the road vs at home where it is safe and warm and fuzzy. Does a team play as a team. When it all falls apart....high turn overs, poor floor shooting, poor free throw shooting, a lot of easy lay ups missed, etc....against a good team..........well, X has some work to do. That was not a FF performance, not even close to a FF performance.

Highly dependent about the full words that you are abbreviating. That was not a FF performance, not even close to a FF performance.
I can think of a few that would fit.

Unfortunately the options on offense inside are not particularly compelling against teams with bigger athletic post players. Hence, we jack up a lot of 3's, and miss what, 40 shots? That's a lot of missed shots. You live and die with the 3, but odds are it won't always go down.

Went to the play by play detail on goxavier.com -XU85 wrote: I was wondering why Trey was out so long so I finally checked the box score to discover he had 4 fouls. You would have thought the announcers might have picked up on that given he was the leading scorer?
Tre's fouls were as follows -
1st foul - 19:19 mark in 2H
2nd foul - 18:04 mark
3rd foul - 13:37 mark - gets subbed out
4th foul - 10:32 mark - gets subbed out.
At that point, X was up 52-52 with BU at the line shooting FT's
When Tre came back in at the 7:30, X was down 52 to 59 and the game was pretty much over.
Maybe I fell asleep during that time of the game but don't recall one mention of Tre's foul situation by the ESPN announcers which seems a bit odd since Tre was X's leading scorer in the game.
