Just watched the "Dvred" version. Agree with the fact that Tre in particular seems to be playing to impress the scouts. The inexplicable shot towards the end of the half, and the multiple step back long jumpers will help keep long shot dogs like Missouri in games they don't belong in. The 2-22 shooting from 3 point land is a product of taking a lot of bad 3s. X must have taken about ten 25 footers, some very early in the shot clock. Pretty undisciplined offense. X wouldn't have survived against 300 other D-1 teams. Thank God they played the Tigers.
On the good side, the post guys played solidly. Granted Missouri didn't have big bodies to compete, but they did what they should against smaller post men: They dominated them. Really like what I see from Bernard so far. He is lessening the sting of losing Davis, particularly the way he defends.
Edmund Sumner is so talented, but he still has a very glaring deficit, as was seen on the Nat'l stage against Wisconsin, and against Missouri today. He does not have a good outside shot, and his most effective option is driving to the hole. However, when the defense has a chance to set up, it is a low percentage one, even with 13 seconds to play. Missouri played pack line against him on the last play in regulation, and Sumner had no chance but to hurl up a desperation trey. X needs to learn how to use him as a decoy.
