As always, Shadow, you are correct. (In this case you simply stated the obvious.)Shadow wrote:I find it interesting that the autopsy is being performed without the carcass.
So far, as I can tell, it's only a tweet that allegedly permanently killed the individual in discussion.

Maybe he was permitted to play in the softball game because in America one is innocent until proven guilty or at least until some sort of investigation is done.CJBurke wrote:Why did it take so long for C Mack to announce the suspension? Why is he permitted to play in the team softball game when the charges were already made public? With that being said...
I have really enjoyed Myles' development from a standstill jump shooter to both a shooter and a slasher. He is also X's best ball handler though Sumner is clearly the more explosive one.
Also what I have disliked about this thread is the sentiment from some that we have evolved into Huggins UC era Bearcats. First, what JP did was immature and childish but far from dangerous. Second, many people in this thread have acknowledged that the argument between Myles and the accuser was mutual and the relationship was toxic. It appears Myles over reacted but he is by no means Donald Little or Danny Fortson.
Further, I think Chris Mack has a strong track record of evaluating character and talent. This is demonstrated through the graduation rates of his players, the post basketball career employment of his players, and the fact his players return after college to work for him (Brian Thornton, Dante Jackson). Chris made a mistake in allowing Tu Holloway and Mark Lyons to speak after the UC game in 2011 but he also suspended those guys for meaningful games in the aftermath. He also required Lyons to graduate prior to releasing him.
The longwinded point I'm getting at is Myles was one of CM's captains last year, to me that means that in CM's eyes and those of his teammates he has demonstrated consistently good leadership and character over a long period. As an aside, Myles' Mom was one of the first people to Edmond Sumner's side when he was on the stretcher at Villanova last New Years Eve. The fact remains if we were all judged on our actions as 23 year olds, we probably wouldn't be in position to post on this message board. If Myles' personal development is in line with his development as a player, he will learn from this experience and be a better person going forward whether he plays for X this season or not.
Go X

Too bad the American justice system is not in place at a private University. So long Myles, wish you had shot better in the Wisconsin game.

Wow so I guess most of the people on this bored can cast the first stone. It's funny how people want to bring up how this is a catholic college but they can't even follow one of the basic things Jesus said. For me if this is all about a broken phone then I say forgive the guy like the good book says and let him be able to have the chance to fix his wrongs. Isn't that all that a good catholic believes? But I don't know all the details of the case and only know what I heard. But me for one am not a perfect person and o will not judge someone on something that can be as small as breaking a phone. But I do see that most people on this bored is perfect so go ahead and start throwing your stones

Bob Bobinski always said "The Xavier program is bigger than any one person: bigger than a coach, a player, or an athletic director." Transitions are a part of the game, especially when dealing with 18-22 year old kids. A program is lucky to have these kids play for 4 years, especially the good ones. They transfer, they leave early for the NBA, and, YES, they get in trouble. Welcome to the NCAA!
The verdict is still out on Myles, literally. Before we judge, sentence, and dismiss Myles from the program, maybe we should patiently wait this out. Whatever happens, the program moves on. You don't need to trust the coaches, administration, or the other players. Trust the program. We have arguably 3 potential NBA draft picks on the roster (I consider Goodin in that group), and all are guards. And we may also have Myles, which would be a plus. Not to mention JP and graduate transfer Malcom Bernard, who both play G/SF.
