Unbelievable..........................................................
Easily our worst offseason ever.
All we can do is await the details and lament the sad reality of this event. Never thought it would escalate to his termination - I am stunned.

Who is Tyler and is he a valid source on this? Why hasn't this been reported?

It hasn't been reported (yet) because Myles is still registered for classes at Xavier. He is reportedly in NJ sorting out his life, but what happens next is anybody's guess. Neither Tyler nor anyone else, other than Myles, knows where this all goes and even Myles may not know.oldhoopster wrote:Who is Tyler and is he a valid source on this? Why hasn't this been reported?
Xavier always goes to the NCAA tournament, and almost always makes some noise while there. Projecting anything less than that this season feels like folly--Eamonn Brennan (ESPN Summer Shootaround, 2012)

Life goes on. We win with him, we win without him. It was becoming too much of a regular thing with the group of the last 2-3 years. Not what we should be coming known for of late. He was too old for college anyway. Time to move on!

You're never too old for college. Maybe for college athletics but not college.

98 percent of wbat I know Iearn on tbjs board. AM I MISSING SOMETHING? As a former prosecutor and defense attorney, I don't see the fuss. So he assaults a cell phone. I do tbat to mine all the time. Then a chance meeting at a UDF store.
I don't advocate breaking restraining orders. A couple municipal court judges get cranky, but it was never a biggie in my day. No violence nor threats thereof, no domestic abuse.
Thank God the decision will be made in the athletic department and not by those pussies on the hill. I'm still pissed about Dez, but I'm also still bitted about being tbe last. cut at X High in 1955 They wanted to bring a kid named Enright to take my place.
With that said, I will respect Chris' decision.

If what is alleged is true, one can only hope that both parties are held accountable for their actions. If the person the in question brought a third party as an agitator and not a "protector" to the alleged confrontation(s) to goad Myles when said person already knew the situation was volatile, that is flat wrong. With that said, I will also respect CM's decision.
Now that I 'm done venting... What is X's best starting 5 now that it appears Myles will not be part of team 95?
1.Ed Sumner
2.Trevon Bluiett
3.Malcom Bernard
4. Rashid Gaston
5. Sean O'Mara
I still like JP coming off the bench to provide a spark. I guess we'll know pretty early on in the season if Bernard can defend well and shoot well enough. Obviously it would be a big jump for Sean to start but I'm just not sure if Kaiser is strong enough yet to bang with other bigs for 25 minutes a game.
I would love to see if X can use their speed and play "small ball" but we don't know if Gaston and Gates can protect the rim well enough for that? Any thoughts?

I like the three 6'6" guys Ed, Trevon and JP at the interchangeable 1, 2, 3. If you add Gates and Gaston you have a nice big, flexible zone. Although we have not seen Bernard play, he appears to fit the same size mold as the 3-Musketeers, and Quentin is 6'4", so there really isn't a drop off. The big question marks are probably, Tyrique and Sean. (I really think that Sean will score, because we have three shooters on the wings that will eliminate the double team down low.)
Might have a tough time with Creighton and a few others playing man against their smaller guards. I see Mack mixing in some new zone adaptations to go with his 1-3-1. Might morph into a 3-2 or match-up zone. With less depth and our need to run on offense, we don't need to be playing 25/30 seconds of run-around, fight through screens, man-to-man 90% of the time. Too many chances of ticky-tack fouls especially on the road with m-to-m.
Our conference teams know the 1-3-1; expect the 1-3-1; and have figured out the open areas (of course they have to hit the open shots.) I think teams will have more trouble defending us, then we having trouble defending them.
Wish we had Myles, but we should be fine without him.

Lead G, my fellow Muskie brother, love your optimism but profoundly disagree. By 'fine without him' if you mean we will win twenty games and make the NCAA tourney I would go along with that. But this drops us from clear top ten to roughly somewhere between 25 and 40. We now are hugely dependent on Ed improving PG skills and playing that position 32+ minutes a game, all season.... Reduces our bench significantly, Places a HUGE importance on Bernard being able to perform against high caliber opposition. Takes away one of our three known consistent outside threats (Unless Kaiser steps up in that dept) Most of all, takes away a key component of our returning chemistry & forces us to rebalance with vastly different rotation combinations. In short - this is a devastating loss.
Now of course the sky is not falling and we do trust that CM and the admn are steering this episode in the proper manner for the long term viability of the program. But do not kid yourself, if Myles is indeed lost, we are now 3rd or 4th best in just the BE and will struggle to earn an 8 to 10 seed in the NCAA at best. My take. Hope I am way off. But good Lord we are placing a lot of marbles on Rashid Gaston and Bernard now plus razor thin in depth if injuries occur.

I find it interesting that the autopsy is being performed without the carcass.
So far, as I can tell, it's only a tweet that allegedly permanently killed the individual in discussion.
