If you read between the lines does that mean he can't shoot ala Larry Austin?commish118 wrote:The only one I know of is PG McKinley Wright on September 23. He has visits with Minnesota, Dayton, and Memphis earlier in September. Looks like a true PG who drives and passes very well. Only say that after watching his film.

He is 6' 165#, but lead his team in rebounding and assists. He is a drive first type of guard who isn't afraid to go in the lane with the bigs, and he is a great passer. He looks like he has a decent outside shot, but by his own admission it is his biggest opportunity. In an interview he said he only took 2 jump shots a game as a SO, and last year as a JR took 9 a game. He still has another year in HS, so he has plenty of time to continue to incorporate it into his game. But at the HS level, it is tough. If you can drive on the competition all day, why would you settle for a jump shot?
Petino is after him big time to stay home at Minnesota. So we will see.

this weekend he cuts his list to 5muskieman wrote:he just cut his list and X is still on it but the list still has 10 other schools
he tweeted Top 5 this weekend
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I take deep breaths and say "recruiting is a roller coaster, relax and let it play out"
Yet in this instance I am on edge for Mr. Scruggs. I have watched several Youtube videos and love this player. Tough, intense on both ends, unselfish, sturdy & strong, fearless, icewater running through his veins. Did I mention TOUGH...? Starting to worry as I had thought there was a chance he may have been so impressed that he would announce by this weekend. If he is only cutting list to 5 and about to visit 2 or 3 more schools - - - - - - Well that's a bummer.
OK, breathe, relax - in Mack we trust...............

Totally agree with everything you said about Scruggs, Ive been very impressed with what I've seen and would love to see what Mack can do with him. As for the "Cutting his list to 5" post, that was in reference to Kris Wilkes not Scruggs. Everyone seems to think Scruggs is going to X, but I guess you can never know for sure with teenage kids.X-lucidity wrote:I take deep breaths and say "recruiting is a roller coaster, relax and let it play out"

MuskieXU is right about my post about top 5 but I will not say his name, as I mentioned in another post, until he is wearing an X shirt and declared.MuskieXU wrote:Totally agree with everything you said about Scruggs, Ive been very impressed with what I've seen and would love to see what Mack can do with him. This is like when we had to wait for Trevon to commit. I just hope it turns out the same way. Mr. Scruggs has more visits schedules over the next three weeks and possibly a re-schedule for Mich. St. But, I can see why he would want to be sure in his decision. I think we all agree that he is a very good player. Go Xavier!

One less school in the hunt for Paul Scruggs. Louisville picks up PG Darius Perry. Scruggs had an offer from Louisville although everything seems to indicate it is us and Indiana for Scruggs.

I know I'm an optimist but I'm hoping for a two for one, Scruggs and Wilkes.

CM is off to a great start with the recruits we've gotten to date for 17,' and the ones we are still in the hunt for. We need post players badly, but if we get Scruggs and Wilkes, it will be the best recruiting class by far. The guy is a hell of a recruiter.
